2014_ 14 On fire - Asia-Europe-Australia
2015_ Zip Code - USA
2016_ Olé Tour - America Latina
2017_ No Filter - Europe

Without an album to promote, without special anniversary to celebrate, these tours were for pleasure on 70-up years old men...

which would be the best?? the UK Tour 2018?

2012-13

I have only seen them in 2014 and 2017 so my information is based not all on experiences.

2012; The expensive gigs, but also the great setlists and return of Mick T and Bill W;
2013; the arena year, again great setlists with a guest every night and Mick T. Also Glastonbury wich i think is one of the best concerts i have seen (not in person)
2014; Mostly big stadiums. Saw them 2 times and they were great. Setlist a bit safe though.
2015: don't remember a lot
2016: South America. Hard not to love a SA tour. Playing a little worse than before, but still...
2017: Great tour, rusty start. Not much variation in setlist. Hamburg was a great setlist though.

I love every stones tour, but i think every tour had great and not so great gigs, so for me it is impossible to decide wich tour is best.

The ones with Mr Taylor of course.

Loved the 02 Nov 2012 shows but not sure if they were the best of that mini tour which included Newark/New York.

Glastonbury - best gig as they were supercharged and played like with real aggression and purpose. Plus they brought out Mick Taylor for three numbers.

Sticky Fingers show at the Fonda Theatre. How lucky for those that were there.

Hamburg 2017 - Nothing prepared those in the audience for THAT set list. Sympathy as opener, two songs off Blue & Lonesome, Play With Fire, Dancing With Mr D and Under My Thumb. Wow.

What was the US show in 2013 where Mick Taylor played on four songs?

I caught a few shows here in the US for the Zip Code tour and also saw the shows in Brazil on OLE.
I would have the say the Ole,Ole tour was the best.
The crowds excitement in South America was incredible!

thumbs up

I was there, and it's in the top 5 of all shows I've ever attended.
The entire tour was easily the best in recent years imo.

Really? Tell us about that tour? Were you there? LOL

For emotional reasons the 2016 Olé Tour - America Latina.

Would like some official boxes of all these tours!

Last years very mini US tour might have been a contender had Mick not become sick.
The setlists at the Desert Trip shows were great - especially weekend two.

Very interesting question. I'd have to listen to recordings from multiple shows from each tour to really judge the quality of the playing (it's hard to remove attendance bias)and rank the tours.

Not on the initial list but the December 2012 50th anniversary show in Newark was cool for all the excitement and special guests. I saw a show in Boston June of 2013 w Mick Taylor (in retrospect their last 'real' tour, not just 12-14 shows) was great, the Zip Code tour opener in San Diego and 1st night of Buenos Aires. BA was hands down the craziest event I've ever been a part of. But total attendance bias. Rolling Stones shows are such giant spectacles I really couldn't pick a 'best' show or tour from this era of the band.

From the ones you posted my ones would be : 1 : 2014 2 : 2017 (fore the more 'loose' feel I quite like) 3 : 2015

2012 - Nice comeback, a bit uneven maybe, the pay-per-view was so so.
2013 - A few interesting suprises in the setlist, lots of terrible guest performances.
2014 - Stale setlists, wasn't overwhelmed by the shows I saw so to speak.
2015 - Great concept if they had played more from Sticky Fingers, but very similar to 2014 overall. Fonda was great.
2016 - A few hick-ups with Mick's voice and the somewhat rough Desert Trip-shows.
2017 - Slow start with the Hamburg show but things seems to have improved with each show since then. Probably Mick's best singing since 2007.

All in all 6 very nice years with lots of good shows and it has been a pleasure to follow it so closely here on IORR and in person at the shows.

2013 was the best - longer shows, more variety, arenas instead of stadiums, excitement over 50 years, Mick Taylor, etc.

Zip code was #1 for me. More road tested and rehearsed. . And doing a lot from Sticky Fingers. Great tour! The Detroit show was one of the best Stoned shows I’ve seen.

Loved the Zip Code tour probably the most as well, primarily because I was able to travel to so many shows (incl. Detroit!!) But sadly, there was no Mick Taylor on that tour. He made the US rounds (again) with them in 2013 only.
