Rolling Stones - Voodoo Lounge
Metallica - Load
AC/DC - Live
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time

Exile on Main Street, Stones. This is Americana music -- blues, folk, country, hillbilly, jazz, soul -- filtered through the sensibility of art school British kids.
Never Mind the Bollocks, Sex Pistols. Thought then and still do that it was the end of 'rock and roll' and punk music, too. Bands still play rock music but it's an established form.
Katy Lied, Steely Dan. My first Dan album. Pop music could be a grown-up, sophisticated thing.
Steve Earle's first album. An old school country album when country music had given up on itself.
Hot Rocks ... Turned me on to the Stones.

I found it difficult to follow the original posters guideline of 5 albums, as I went through the 520 albums in my collection. Therefore I am listing my 10 most influential albums, followed by my 5 most influential Rolling Stones albums:

10 Most Influential Albums (not including The Rolling Stones):
• Beatles: "Abbey Road"
• Bob Dylan: "Blonde On Blonde"
• Bruce Springsteen: "Darkness On The Edge Of Town"
• Creedence Clearwater Revival: "Green River"
• David Bowie: "Ziggy Stardust"
• Doors: "Morrison Hotel"
• Grateful Dead: "American Beauty"
• Neil Young: "Harvest"
• Rod Stewart: "Every Picture Tells A Story"
• Santana: "Abraxas"

5 Most Influential Rolling Stones Albums:
• "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out"
• "Sticky Fingers"
• "Exile On Main Street"
• "Emotional Rescue"
• "Tatoo You"

HOWEVER, IF I HAD TO PICK ONLY ONE ALBUM AS MY MOST INFLUENTIAL ALBUM OF ALL TIME, IT WOULD BE:

• "GET YER YA YA'S OUT"

Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies - older sister had it and gave it to me in late 73 when she was off to University
KISS Alive 2 - got it for Christmas 77. Would stare at the cover and inside gatefold pic while listening to the album and picturing I was there. Detroit Rock City, Ladies Room, Shout It Out Loud, etc.!
Van Halen 1 - first heard Eruption/You Really Got Me early 79 wondering who is this!?
AC/DC Back In Black - bought it Summer of 80. Shortly after discovered their back catalog like almost everyone else.
Tattoo You - 1981 first year of high school and EVERYONE was into the Stones.

Got it much later but yes. Exactly. Stare at the cover and the gatefold and picturing being there between Detroit and King. God of thunder. wow.

And Kiss is an honest answer. I could have said Exile, Nick Drake, Charlie Christian or Cohen but c'mon.
