It would be great to see Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas rejoin Hayward/Lodge/Edge onstage for a performance: [www.youtube.com]

Yes...Mike Pender...he seems to have had a very low profile since leaving The Moodies.
Dies he still live in the States?

Dies he still live in the States?

Yes, I believe he does.

You know, he kept such a low profile that he didn't even tell his children what he did before. Around the time he left the Moodies he was starting a new family -- and one day one of his children mentioned that someone at school had told them that their father was once in a famous band.

Ray Thomas had to stop touring around 15 years ago due to non-life-threatening diseases that require the sort of strict control over diet that can't be done on the road. But he's still around.

I recommend this DVD (from 2005 or so). Mike Pinder participated, but Ray Thomas did not. It has a bonus audio CD of early tracks from bands members were in before the Moodies.

I wonder if Denny Laine will be included?
Superb vocals on 'Go Now'.
He's had one of the strangest Careers in music.....talk about peaks and troughs.

The Moody Blues first 7 albums were incredible. They should be inducted just on that work alone.

Dire Straits made a lot of great music then got super popular. I am surprised they are not in already.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe circa 1064 in England. Definitely a pioneer.

Still no Jethro Tull, the most deserving act never to have even been nominated.

Just keep in mind that Wenner and Rolling Stone are MASSIVELY biased against heavy metal, and have been for decades. Bands like Priest, Maiden, Motorhead should have objectively been inducted years ago.

It was only grudgingly that Black Sabbath and Metallica were inducted both due to their massive influence (in Sabbath's case) and commercial success (in Metallica's case).

AC/DC, KISS and Rush were grudgingly inducted due to fan fervor and simply because their steady, decades-long success couldn't be denied.

But metal bands that are just under the Sabbath/Metallica threshold? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Lol they wrote their own destiny.

Kidding aside, that was a great song and a favorite when I was kid back in '69.
Can't recall anything else from them...one hit wonders...

Oh jeez...I knew I would read something in this thread that would piss me off!!! angry smiley
But with the knowledge that the Hall of Fame is a big joke and has been for quite some time, I suppose this isn't surprising...bastards.

Bon Jovi??? C'mon.....

....ahead of the Moody's or Dire Straits? Or Nina Simone? NO way.

Bon Jovi, like Huey Lewis to me, would struggle as a PUB band in Australia, just so generically awful.
