You think of the typical family living in an isolated rural home. You are vulnerable. I can understand why people in that position want to have guns. I know nothing about guns but I am going to guess he bought a legal semi-automatic assault rifle(s). Then perhaps he went to a gun show and made a back-door deal or even went on the regular or "dark" Internet to find someone to convert it into a fully automatic weapon(s) for a few measly hundred bucks.
I watched a few clips of people huddled on the ground in sheer terror while the bullets were flying not even knowing where they were coming from and where to run and it made me cry. On a deeper level, the parents and loved ones of all of those mostly young country music fans that were severely injured or murdered are going through their own private hell. They are literally feeling the bullets ripping through their bodies and feeling themselves die. It will play back in their psyches for a week or two like an endless tape loop, almost enough to drive a person insane. They are suffering more than you can ever imagine if you haven't been there.

Well I guess that's settled-glad there are no attacks in the U.K. -I assume it's also illegal to bring a gun into a nightclub in Paris too.say hello to the unicorns and enjoy the rainbows in that world you,re living in.

I'm very liberal, but I have no interest in "banning" guns. The 2nd Amendment, as antiquated and misinterpreted as it is, is enshrined in our Constitution, and isn't going anywhere.
Furthermore, I don't think owning handguns or shotguns is unreasonable. I simply think strict regulations on gun ownership are in order: extensive background checks, waiting periods, mandatory annual safety training, firearms registration, limits on ammo sales, etc.
Almost every car in America is registered and accounted for. There's no reason we can't do the same with guns except for the constant fear-mongering and screaming from an unreasonable, unhinged, fanatical minority of well-funded paranoiacs.
