When the show ended as we went to all meet up in the corn fields......A guy was handing out small black books for free...called Sex,Drugs,Rock n Roll about all the now deceased rock stars..it's in German anybody else get one? M

In Munich I asked the person who handed out these little books, if it is from a religious organization - he said yes and I said no thank you.

I remember quite well, when they handed out flyers like that on the way to the stadium when the Stones played in Munich Olympiastadion 1982 and all written on it was something like: >rock n roll is evel, especially the music of the Rolling Stones who worship sympathy for the devil etc...< now they must have improved and even give books away - and I´ve seen some thrown away in the waste on my way back..

I do not like these approaches from so called religious people, even though I always shout out loud at each Rolling Stones show I attend: THANK YOU GOD for giving us this!!

These guys were regulars at concerts in the 70s and 80s (at least, in German-speaking countries). First saw them in '74 (Santana in Linz, my first concert altogether), saw them in Munich and Hamburg, and for the last time in 1988 (Zappa in Vienna). They used hand out flyers and pamphlets to the people waiting to be let in the venue, also gave speeches at times.

Somehow it's good to hear they're still around. Shows you that Rock'n'Roll still has the subversive bit to it ...

BTW, miss the Hare Krishnas, who used to perform pre-shows back in the day. Always been good fun ...

This particular performance in Spielberg was astounding.
I watched it unfold into one of the most powerful and poignant renditions of any song that I've ever witnessed live. It seems etched in my heart and my head and my dreams.

Keith was in a zone and it was truly memorizing to watch. He poured his heart and soul into this song that night and the results were simultaneously gorgeous and gut-wrenching.

The vocal delivery seemed to come from deep inside...
"I'm getting OFF on M I S E R Y..." with both clenched fist and jaw.

And then this verse:
"First the sun and then the moon...
One of them I'LL be round soon. Awww yeah...I'M slipping away...oh yeah."

I'm not sure I've ever heard him sing those lines in the first person.
I know I've never heard him sing them THAT way before.

I agree, the DVD I'm finishing shows all the 'flubbs' which only adds to the experience, Keith plays like he means it, all night, and Mick ..... What a showman! This is one great gig!
