No way they use a click track. A metronome is used only for the count-ins.

Indeed. After Keith's dwelling off the metronome, Charlie corrects and saves us from a complete trainwreck, but then Mick starts on the original metronome and spoils Charlie's fix.
Had it so often with my band, playing along on a click-track sucks for band-dynamics winking smiley

So do you think they use a click-track since this tour? In the past they didn't use it because you would hear it on the IEM-records that surfaced.

This "mistake" makes it very clear.
Also, if you look at the official printed set lists from the BB tour, there is the metronome tempo mentioned in bpm. A band has to be extremely mechanic to play the exact bpm without a metronome. I don't know how the click reaches the members.

The bpm was written on the setlist of the Bigger Bang Tour too. But I thought that was only for the count-in for Chuck. As Keith, Ronnie and Charlie don't wear IEM a click-track should be heard through the monitors. I can't believe they do so. Charlie uses the headphones only during SFTD where he plays to a click-track. But on all other tracks? I can't believe they could and would change that in 2017. I would rather think that Keith plays wrong because of monitoring problems.

Here is a example of U2 who uses click tracks and someone who counts every single member and every single verse, chorus etc in. This sould be the same if the Stones would use it but you can't hear something like that on all IEM recordings from the last years. And we have many of them.

It was maybe some Guitar mag interview 10-15 years ago, at the time of Licks or Bigger bang that Keith stated something like"if that click doesn't stop somebodys gonna die.." So maybe they have only rhythm light for Keith. You can tell 81-82 tempos were all over the place and even on Voodoo tour there was some really fast versions. You got me rocking in Helsinki 1995 was pretty fast. Mick had troubles keeping up..

Anyone who was wrong Keith is wrong to behave like that, Keith is not a kid, he has been playing for years and should have the experience to figure out that he does not act like that. If at every wrong intro to him Mick would shout at him, I do not think he would be happy.

But look, it gave us pages and pages of talk.

They needed (according to YouTube-viewers, that is) a little more temperature in the set. Now, Keith has provided that grinning smiley

I have no idea why that happened or, musically speaking, whose 'fault' it is ... but, man, that view is just ... hysterical!

Again, not trying to critique how the band should have responded musically in this case. Just observing that I've never seen two dudes standing on a street corner being more like what the @#$%& is he doing than Mick and Chuck are here.

Even if they don't I'm sure it will be lovable and endearing, all the same.

This is hilarious. The more I listen to it, the more confused I get. Right now it sounds as if Keith actually wants to play Start Me Up.

Charlie coming in on the wrong beat was probably caused by Keith's pause in this case, but in fact it is typical of Charlie... I mean, it happens to him every now and then. Like the famous mistake on the studio version of HTW.
Or in the following clip of Love In Vain - watch the 5:54 mark, he takes a fill and adds an extra beat, turning the whole thing over (note both Micks turn to look at him for a second). But the whole band adjusts to him right away:

The SHIT-MUD location and low temperature may have influenced the intro's, let alone the ancient art of weaving. Look at this:

video: [youtu.be]

This is Tumbling Dice. See Ronnie struggle with COLD hands!
He can't make his fingers work!

And this is only 4 songs into the setlist. It was too damn cold down there.

Two sets of lyrics come to mind after wading through all of these videos and screw-ups:

"And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon". sad smiley
(Brain Damage: Pink Floyd/Roger Waters)

and:

"If you're listening to this song
You may think the chords are going wrong
But they're not
We just wrote it like that" winking smiley
(Only a Northern Song: Beatles/George Harrison)

Good evening Mr. Powerage 78

AC/DC were (one of) my favorite bands.

THE ROLLING STONES ARE THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND.

By the way... Are you interested in buying a Blow Up Your Video poster signed by Angus to me personally?

I agree about the awful mix and production Powerage 78, but the album is not good. It's boring. And this one was in 1988 I think?

Had some good times with AC/DC, but for me THE STONES were and are THE GREATEST until we die.

Angus can't call himself AC/DC.

Yes, very revealing. From another video uploader, the view was on Keith, and Keith made it seem like it was the others messing him up -- the way one does when one trips up on the sidewalk, and you automatically look down where you just tripped, because, of course, I couldn't have just done that!

But in this other perspective, Mick and Chuck are looking at Keith and at Keith only (and doesn't Chuck seem a bit bemused?), and then Mick adjusts his monitor to lean over and, I think, ask Chuck to count him in.

There did seem to be a pregnant pause in the opening part of Keith's intro.

But I also viewed the clip of Jack Flash from the same uploader and Keith seemed to be doing alright, even on the intro.

You can bet that if they were intending for this show to be a DVD concert film release, they would have cleaned up BS intro and all the way they did "Scarf Me Up" at Hyde Park. Instead, they would have had footage of the crowd and/or aerial glimpses of the event, and the parts where Keith stopped playing altogether would have been overdubbed.

The "Clean Me Up" of "Scarf me Up" is proof that such glaring errors, while endearing to and forgiven by the hardcore fan base, are clearly not for mass consumption.
