This popped up on my facebook feed yesterday.

From a fan group.

Ah yes. Well spotted DandelionPowderman, in my excitement at seeing this pop up on FB I didn't notice it was from an unofficial site. Hopefully someone on that fan group has some inside info and an announcement is due shortly. We will know sooner or later.

Coincidently enough, WOW is offering some kind of "free stop-over in Iceland" promotion (or maybe thats why you mentioned them?).. Never heard of them, but their prices are cheap.. have you flown with them before??

Yes. Very good, all things considered. A surprisingly tolerable $300 nonstop LAX to Reykjavik return. Pretty boring country otherwise, and tourism is at an unsustainable, even socially damaging level.

Thanks, Dean.
Definitely on the option list for me after researching them a bit.
SF to London w a ten hour layover in Iceland ($189 on up) would work for me..
Depending on the tour schedule, they also fly to Dublin.

Norwegian Air also runs some very good transatlantic fares to London and other European cities.

Any rumors of substance regarding a USA TOUR for the fall of 2018? BV, do you think this is being considered? I need to renew my passport and consider LONDON if no tour of America!

They should play MSG as part of the USA tour

They have to play a 3-month-tour of Iceland and Greenland in fall 2018 - no time left for USA.

Wow. 28 hours without a new comment. In late January! Is the tour "off"?

Don't be silly. Now that the Iceland gig is as good as 99.99999999999% confirmed (if only in people's extremely vivid imaginations), everyone's out buying cold weather clothing ....... !!

If they play the Harpa, you don't need outdoor clothing! It's an 1,800 seater which means it can hold 0,5 % of the whole Icelandic population. Do they sell 1,5 million tickets in the US? Or 410,000 in Germany?

Now WAI... ah say: wáit jus a G***D*** minute!!
Were are WE, faithful IORRians, gonna sit then??!
I mean, if I read thes (previous) pages here corrrectly, half of us are already booking flights to Iceland as we speak!

Let's do some higher Maths:
Ok, how many of us IORRians are we
plus
The average attendance of a Rolling Stones concert in percent of the inhabitants of a country
(that's why I gave the figures for the US and Germany: I wouldn't expect 0,5 % of a whole population to come!)

Does that make more than 1,800 or will the hall be empty?

Have a look at the building, it is incedibly beautiful, also inside!
So behave well and don't tear out seats. This is not Waldbühne/Berlin or Kurhuis/The Hague (or was it Scheveningen?). winking smiley

I have no insider information, but I'm pretty sure they won't play Iceland this year, let alone a small hall. They or the local promotors would loose much money.
Maybe on the next "real" (without UK) European Tour in 2020/21 as the exotic stop (like Tel Aviv 2014).

There is much talk on Gomper in track talk and the Dulcimer, the "weird" instrument as it is called on page 3 of the discussion. I have seen one in Reykjavik in a music shop (well, five years ago). So if they need to buy a new one and that's my suggestion - combined with a concert in the Harpa.

Without rehearsals? Listen to Las Vegas 2016 (which wasn't unrehearsed). Or were the rehearsals in India?

This sounds very unlikely. They'll hit the stage jetlagged, just like that - out of the blue?

Time will tell...

A bad rumour...they’re in Toronto tonight, of course. If Mick and Ronnie get back from India.

Apologies, didn’t intend to muddy the waters.
