Likely already posted, but almost enough rumors for me to start shopping airfare, lodging etc.. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

The Rolling Stones to 'headline huge new festival in Knebworth'

Legendary band The Rolling Stones are being strongly rumoured as the headliner of a new festival set to take place at Knebworth House next summer - 42 years after last playing there.

The Mick Jagger fronted rockers previously performed at the famed venue, which has a capacity of 125,000 people, in 1976.

Oasis famously managed to sell out back to back nights at Knebworth House in August 1996, and Robbie Williams performed to 375,000 over three nights in 2003.

The last concert to be held at the Hertfordshire venue was metal festival Sonisphere in 2014, with not many artists having the pulling power to be able to fill the huge capacity.

However the Mirror reports that a festival is set to return to Knebworth with Promoters AEG Presents understood to be working behind-the-scenes on a huge event for summer 2018.

And the company are rumoured to want The Rolling Stones to be the headliners – they are certainly one of the few acts that could fill out the venue.

The huge festival would certainly help plug the gap for music fans since Glastonbury is on a fallow year, meaning that the festival won't be held at its Worthy Farm home in 2018.

I read somewhere here that the festival is off for 2018. So Very unlikely that the Stones Will headline this festival, unless... they book the whole field for themselves as a stand Aline concert

Oh please roller99 being Thanksgiving and all will be forgiven if the turkey made you talk... what do you know, hmmm ?
I suspect everyone is off for the holidays and no 2018 concrete rumor until it’s 2018....
Sure would love it if they got together in a studio December ‘17

Did a google search rumors from Sept. 2017 old news old news
but copied this from the illustrious (ha) Mirror
“Music industry magazine Music Week now reports that AEG Presents is planning to launch a huge new festival at Knebworth Park next summer - and the Stones "are rumoured to be in the frame to headline".

A source close to the band confirmed to the Mirror that the idea had unquestionably been mooted.

"People are always coming up with ideas and figures and how it could work - the truth is no decision will be made until after Christmas when everyone is back from holiday," they said.

'Concrete rumour'...smiling smiley...a bit of a contradiction, but a possible name for the supposed/rumoured new album and/or tour?

2018 Concrete Rumour Tour has a nice ring to it.

Yo roller99 just addressed
the validity
“It isn't hearsay, it is going to happen.”
That’s what the connected dude from LA says...

Yes I know roller - he don't lie!

Was referring to the term 'concrete rumour'...a paradox...contradictory...

Croke Park Dublin only has availability for one night in 2018. Michael Buble and now Taylor Swift have already announced dates for 2018 and I believe from previous threads that Croke Park only has a licence for 3 concerts per year. (I thought this may have been a venue that they would have played a couple of nights owing to their connections with Dublin).

There’s also the Aviva Stadium, the RDS, Phoenix Park, Slane Castle.

Interesting that clapton can announce shows nine months in advance with no 'Insurance issues'.

I take it that you are expecting an invite to the wedding !!! bit of a dilemma Royal wedding or the Stones should the two fall on the same day.

Yes what a dilemma indeed.

atm I am coming down on the side of the wedding.

It would be probably be a cheaper day out

A different Set List would be a nice change.

Or maybe do both if it's possible to wriggle out of the evening do.
Still considering options though

Sniggers grinning smiley. Whenever there’s a Royal Wedding on, I switch off my TV and Radio all day and avoid news sites. I have no time whatsoever for that over privileged shower of disfunctional inbreds (although Harry may not fall into that category) and I strongly object to funding their opulent existence with my taxes. At a personal level, I wish the couple a happy future in the same way I would any other random couple getting married.

If there’s a Stones gig the same day, that would be perfect for me and I would definitely be there, even if it was at a venue I don’t particularly like.

If they’re going to be in the neighbourhood, they might as well play at the reception. Would solve the problem. And if you need a +1 I have a dress...

I was thinking of a 3 to 4 week trip to Europe in 2018 or 2019.

I think I'll now consider 2018 with a stop over in the UK.....
.....now I just need dates!

Would be nice to see the Stones in the 7/7 Hyde Park slot, same weekend with Roger Waters on Friday and Eric Clapton on Sunday.
