Anyone able to offer any insight/advise for the Villa Park Birmingham show?
With a chance that I will be able to make this one depending on date, I've been looking at hotels train stations etc. hoping to book if/when announced.
Looks like not many hotels very close to stadium.. an industrial area or??
Thanks in advance.

I must admit I am not very familiar with this side of the city.
Off the top of my head I would say the city centre would be the best choice for a hotel.
There are trains from Birmingham grand central ( used to be Birmingham New street) and there are regular trains around every 10 minutes to witton station.
I will ask about hotels at work tomorrow.

looking at bv's list there are gaps to fill and two rumored show without a date
gaps are
- 7 days between May 25 (London II) and June 2 (Manchester I), i.e. one show
- 9 days between June 9 (Edinbourgh) and June 19 TWickenham, i.e. one or two shows
the two rumored shows without a date are Southampton and Birmingham
Thus: two rumored shows, but enough time for three shows…

There's always a longer break of a week or so, like between Copenhagen and Dusseldorf 17.

Slewan does have a point, though; these are two breaks of 16 days 'grand total' - there's bound to be some gigs added in that (these) time frame(-s)...

I very recently (just 1 month ago, approx.) spent a couple of days in Birmingham...
The Aston neighbourhood (where Villa Park is located) is decent, albeit quite dull.
If you are gonna stay there, I'd suggest contacting the Aston Tavern. It's a wonderful bar (though not a late-nighter; closes at 7pm...), in a beautiful building, they have súper & genuinly 'home-made' food (their shepherd's pie is a must), service is 'homey', and the owner told me he's fully refurbishing the top floors, turning the place in into an 'Inn' with ho(s)tel facilities. (He also told me he runs one or two hotels in the city centre, as well as two night clubs ànd a 'titty' bar. So he's got something in store for everyone...)
Dunno if it'll be ready by the Birmingham "No Stopping" date(-s) (as yet unknown)...; but if you really-really want to stay a stone's throw (yup; couldnt resist that one... ;o) from the ground, you'll be happy to know that the Aston Tavern is in walking distance from Villa Park -
in fact: even with loads of beer in y'r system, you'll still be able to reach the ground before anyone can sing "Shidoobee-shattered, shattered (uh-huh) "...!!)

If the Stones really will play Stuttgart then it could be that their first and last stadium show in Germany would have taken place at the same stadium. They first played at this stadium in 1976:

Interesting. There's room for at least one show between Edinburgh and Twickenham. And now that Edinburgh is after Manchester, there's room for a midweek show between London #2 and Manchester too.
My guess is Villa Park, Birmingham on June 12 or 13, followed by Cardiff on 16 June. With Southampton squeezed in on May 30.
I don't think there will be a show every 100 miles. 3x London, 2x Manchester, Southampton, Birmingham, Cardiff - that's way too many shows, unless the prices are much lower than usual (which won't happen of course). It's like they had played 11 or 12 shows in Germany last year.
The surprises are Birmingham and Southampton, and a '2nd' show at Old Trafford. But there's such a big population in a small space - someone somewhere has made a judgement that it can work.
I did a drive-by of the digital 'No Stopping' screen next to Manchester Arena last night and have to say, it was exciting...
Would be great for you guys over there, but is it realistic? That's many 100.000 tickets for prices from £100-150 onwards. I don't think they can sell out Manchester twice if they also play in Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Could the Stones play Slane Castle again?
