new post on Fb: "NO IDEA! When interviewed about the band’s success back in the 60’s, Mick Jagger said “When we first made a record and it got in the charts, we thought well, it’s good, we’ll probably be around for a year, maybe a year and a half, then it’s all going to be over.”"

There must be nicer places to play in Poland rather than Warsaw, that town is like desolation row.

Nate

This is stupid. Warsaw was totally destroyed after WWII. I recommend you to watch this - maybe you will change your mind. Visualisation of Warsaw after war.. [www.youtube.com]

Uff. Worse than Dresden, unbelievable.

So maybe concert will take place in other place. I think it's too late for disscusing this topic. This kind of meeting would be okay in December or by the beggining od January. Or maybe its just kind of spectacle?

It would be kind of spectacle if Mick showed up at the meeting in person
‘can you hear in the back?’

smiling smiley

And also if Keith was there - here he takes his turn trying convince the people that a Stones concert is a good idea, but goes slightly off topic:

Keith

I have been there and I found the people nice and welcoming but the architecture is not aesthetically pleasing and to me this is very important.
I found it to be a grey and depressing place and that was in summer.

most important line:
Q: Will the Stones be playing in the U.S. this year?

A: I haven't heard anything. If I knew, I'd tell you.

Nate, try to wander around Royal Lazienki or Prague (actually close to the stadium) district... There are some magical places in Warsaw. smiling smiley Although I much more prefer Wroclaw or Gdansk (I find Krakow too tourist-populated).

23rd June Berlin means Olympic Stadium.
Waldbühne is not possible because of a classic concert on 24th.
I don't think there will be another venue. Weißensee (1990) is not possible.

They could build a temporary Stadium (like in Hamburg 2017) at the former Airport Tempelhof .... winking smiley

OK. This means I will do either Twickenham or Berlin that week.

By the way BV, why are you ignoring Warsaw rumours especially now since they start No Stopping advertising in Poland? winking smiley

If Warsaw date is indeed 7th July then I believe they can squeeze 2 shows before - June 30th and 3/4 July.

While I liked Tempelhof as an airport I think it's not suitable or neccessary for a concert. There is Wuhlheide for 17000, Waldbühne for 22000 and Olympia Stadium for 74000. Why should they build something like in Hamburg? Here the biggest and only stadium has a capacity of max 50000 so it made sense to build a 80000 place in the Stadtpark. Would it really be cheaper than booking one of those other venues which are ready and just need the stage thrown in?

Guess the signs are that they arent getting a licence for two shows at Twickenham. Disappointing if thats the case.

However, I'm intrigued by the omission of a venue for May 22 & 25 and the fact that the 02 is free on both those nights (and owned by AEG, who promote the Stones)

Three London stadium shows (about 180,000 tickets) is a bit of a stretch for the Stones if they're also playing other shows within an hour or two's drive away, dont you think?

Interesting also that those two London dates are on a Tuesday and a Friday. You'd think they'd want to maximise sales for stadium shows by having at least one of them on a Saturday or Sunday.
