It has been said before that this tour would consist of 10-12 shows so if they were to start in Dublin on May 17th and play 2 shows a week then finish on June 23rd at Twickenham the time frame seems correct.

So what sort of tour are we looking at?

Starting In Dublin May 17th, then :

Cardiff Millenium Stadium ?

Edinburgh Murrayfield ?

Newcastle St James or similar?

Manchester Old Trafford - 2 shows

Twickenham - 2 shows

That gets us to 8 stadium shows. Would they try to do more at their prices ? I doubt it somehow. When is IOW festival ?

Makes me think that the odd big show in Europe might come after Dublin. 3-5 in places they haven't played recently like the often rumoured Poland.

I fancy a trip to Lisbon if they are listening !

Just my thoughts. NOTHING IS CONFIRMED.

I also agree that this feels like the end. Jagger seemed to be saying goodbye at last years shows.

What did Mick do that made anyone think he was saying goodbye at last years shows?

Charlie is very fit for his age. He can do 12, 13 shows a year until he's 81 or 82. Jagger too. BUT I'm not so sure about Ron and Keith.

If i remember correctly Jagger said in Arnhem a few times, thanks a lot for all these years the fans had stood by the band, and they were very grateful for the great time they had. It seemed(....) like a goodbye to me. maybe i am wrong??

He was visibly emotional a few times towards the end of the tour during Street Fighting Man.

Ok I wasn't at the show in Arnhem but I remember Jagger saying that at the Hyde Park shows in 2013.

Well anyway it's pointless to speculate on their future.
I am looking forward to the shows this summer.

Jagger was saying that at a lot (all?) of the 2013 shows.. at least all the (6) ones I was at. Also at the 2012 Brooklyn show.

And especially at the show where the latest chunk of touring began, 25 Nov 2012 (O2) - the only time I can remember sensing 'vulnerability' in the air around the Stones. The Paris shows confirmed, it's still truly special seeing them perform.

I agree, but it was what he said in Arnhem , that struck a deep emotion in Me. One of the next gigs might be the last. Though i hope not, and that they keep going for another 5 years or so. Health permitting...

I've felt that Jagger was really thanking 50,000 people or more for supporting the Band more than 55 years after they started playing. That is unprecedented in music history. I think he feels the love and emotion from the crowd only he shows it differently to Keith or Charlie.

If there is problems with "the permit" to go on tour at home, then tell your wife, husband, partner, brother, sister, mother, father, whoever is in charge of the permit, the following: By getting to see the Stones live you will be a happy person. By staying home while they perform what might be their final UK shows you will be sad and in a mess. Who want to have a sad person at home?

In Paris in October, Mick said it was their 45th show in France and thank u for coming to see us all these years, same as he has been saying since the 50th anniversary tour. And people have been predicting their demise for years, as was the case in '75 when I first saw them. So STOP IT!

It’ll be sad when I get back and have to find a paying job I promised!

Bjornulf ‘Old Trafford’ football stadium or cricket grounds?
Man you people have a lot of large get togethers.
Thanks if you have a hint. I am still scheming ;-)

ETA: I note ‘Old Trafford’ 55,000 capacity, must be the cricket.

Capacity of the stadium for a sports event and capacity for an end-stage concert are two very different things. You wouldnt get 55,000 into the cricket ground.

50,000 could attend the cricket ground in Manchester but surely they are considering the football ground... as noted by others, England play Australia on 24 June at the cricket ground so it's unlikely they would have a concert there 2 weeks before. However money rules...
I've been to both venues today (5 minutes walk apart) - hard to believe summer nights are 3-4 months away! Freezing sleet today..

on a personal note, if it’s the football, I have to take my H. I’ll pluck the Alex Ferguson auto book from the shelf, read on plane, MU tour around, make it event.
If it’s cricket, back to plan A.
