This version sounded terrible. Keith was struggling with the opening, couldn't keep up and having problems hitting the notes throughout, and even worse, the sax was awful. The sax solo was the worst I've ever heard. They really miss Bobby but this guy is bad.
A long and excellent version of MR was indeed played. A fabulous show!

Yes I agree. I think Daryl and Charlie need to rehearse the bit at the end of each chorus where there is a little bass riff and then the drums come back in - Daryl was adding some extra stuff and I think Charlie had trouble working out where to come back in.

Its almost like someone close to Mick has given him some feedback from iorr suggestions and wishes.
To play 3 extra songs and play for 2 hours 10 at their ages is nothing short of incredible.
They do it because they want to and because they love it.
I am in awe of this band, they never cease to amazing me.

Just got home. Wow. The band started 20.30 and finishied about 22.50. Almost 2,5 hours non stop With much power and energy. A great and long set list filled With gems and rarities. The band seemed well prepared and focused. A simple but beautiful stage. The visuals are stunning. Highlights for me: Just Your Fool, Ride Em On Down, Play With Fire, Dancing With Mr.D and Street Fighting Man...

Twentytwo songs. Two hours twenty minutes of The Rolling Stones live in Hamburg tonight. Play With Fire. Dancing With Mr D. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie walking all the way from the main stage to the B-stage for the final bow. Then returning back as the show was over. Keith walking arm by arm with Charlie. They are the last ones off stage. The show is over. This show was made to be perfect. Nice crowd. Great band.

Denson has always sounded like the sax in Benny Hill, I'm surprised no one's told Mick yet ! Surely they can afford a better player ?
Keith hasn't sounded as good on GS for a very, very long time...2007 ? He may have simplified some parts but there are a lot less flubbed notes than on most (all?) the post 2012 versions. Nice ! Now he needs to do the same for SFTD ;-)

I had a discussion with the security head of stuff at the Lucky Dip entrance about my binoculars. She told me they weren't allowed. I said: Binoculars are not on the list. She: They are video equipement. Me: the are just like glasses – a lens to look thruh. She: no. Me: yes. She: No etc. I just ignored her and moved on – nothing happend, altought she could have easily got me since I had to stand in another line to pick up my tickets…

I am back now for an hour or so. Wow, very much impressed by that show, my first one. Just some quick notes, will read thread 2morrow.
- SFTD was a perfect opener
- I couldn't take my Lumix digi camera with me and lost 30 mins to deposit it. Costed me also EUR 4. Sxxt.
- 2 B&L songs, just flawless, keep them (or rotate with other B&L songs)!
- Play With Fire, one of my faves tonight
- DWMD!!!!!!!!
- lot's of love for Under My Thumb and Paint it, Black and even more for Slipping Away
- could do without MY and SFM
- up to song 15. MR superbe, after that song choice made me lost
after a certain time my mobile connection was cut-off, no phone calls, wifi etc. That's probably also why you had so few updates.
And now chill out, come down, cheers!

Surprised! Satisfied! Speechless!
The boys sure put out something special for my 10th ever show.
Even way back in the Silver Pit the atmosphere was awesome. Sound was balanced too.
Now 2 am, trying to wind down...on to Munich tomorrow night!

Amsterdam can't come quick enough.
One of the things I get the most joy from at a concert is seeing the look on people's faces who you can tell have never seen the band before and they are having one of the best nights of their lives.
