While packing my bags for Hamburg I heard this aweful news.
He's the reason I checked out country music.
A giant left us. A gentle giant.

September 7th, Buddy Holly's birthday
September 8th, today, Patsy Clines birthday
September 9th, Otis Redding's birthday

3 heroes, all passed on in airplane crashes, sad.

Patsy Cline, I've been listening to her a lot lately, they are all of course, impressive.

In New Jersey today, a helicopter crash claimed the life of Troy Gentry, one half of Montgomery Gentry.

So, I'm just including a bit of news, mostly country news.

RIP

Huge influence on many of my friends, and I... Not only was I bummed to learn of his passing but incredibly frustrated that, in both of the gigs I played this weekend, none of the other band members in either band was able to pull of a Don Williams tune. The one time I had to be full of female based rock setlists when I really needed to be playing some Americana/Blues/Country. Oh well...

Peace,
Mr DJA
