Watched what? He plays licks on the versions I've heard from that tour. Ronnie plays the slide and Mick plays the acoustic.

Should be common knowledge from No Security, or have you heard/seen something I missed?

There are three guitars. All of them are perfectly audible. No reason to be confused.

Its a mick and ron song.
If you reckon the odd hammering and string bend is a lick well you are right.
My point is that he doesnt really play.
No offence to your rock god.

Lets be honest; It really misses Ry Cooder's beautiful slide playing........

I actually really like this version and Keith plays great on this track, as he generally did from 1997 to 1999.

Not everybody needs to be a "star" on every track. Keith fills in with some cool Mayfield-esque licks. Works nicely to my ears.

I like this version a lot, no other band plays like that. In the late 1990s the Stones were very good.

Usually Im an easy catch when it somes to bashing some live performance from the 1989- era. This time? No. Keith is not a drunken mess on this one. Mick sang this Sister Morphine surprusingly good ie with some of that real genuine Let it bleed - Goats feeling. Almost.
At least almost none of the aerobics nasal Peter Pan-shite. Keith doesnt do anything special here but I dont think he's totally out of it either. Of course nothing on this version comes close to the real Stones and the real song.

Keith does a great job on that 1997's take of SM.He is quite inspired and subtil. It is not an easy song to play in front of an excited audience!!

Of course it's a pity they never did this one live in the early 1970s with Mr. Taylor when all concerned were at peak performance, I always thought the performance for MTV Live at the 10 Spot/ NO SECURITY was just fine. They certainly acquitted themselves well with everyone doing their latterday best and gelling quite nicely as a band. I felt the same way about "Stray Cat Blues" on the LICKS tour.
