Just Amsterdam for me. That's as much as I can afford. What I meant to say is: I admire
bv for his commitment to the band. It's impressive how much time and money he invests,
and I am thankful for him sharing his experiences with us, so we can get a glimmer of
what it is like to be such a great fan.

I could probably make an educated guess, but what two numbers do we know they rehearsed?
As for the minimal rehearsal time, something tells me that was just enough time to dust off the warhorses, and allow Mick to practice his choreography. I could be totally wrong, but have a feeling nothing much more than a typical setlist. That said, if you combine the two setlists from the Desert Trip shows, there are more than enough tunes to mix around and make it enjoyable - including a couple covers from Blue and Lonesome.

I take a back seat to no one in criticizing The Stones for things like their artistic bankruptcy ... but I'm not sure you can pin the "lazy" label on a group of mid-70's codgers who can still make it up out of their armchairs for a series of 2-hr shows once or twice a year.
I bet they all have good hearts and might very well have donated privately significant amounts to the Harvey recovery efforts in Texas.
They like to do such charity work in public, too...

They tried in 2014 with "Silver Train" with poor results, both in terms of what it sounded like and audience reaction. When you listen to the Tokyo rehearsals you can see how difficult it was for them to get it together on that song...on the other hand the rares SF songs sound decent on the Fonda recording (and we're told there were no "overdubs") so it also comes down to the material of course.

Normally there are always report of what songs they played during rehearsels. We only know of 2 Numbers now.... doesn't look either they rehearsed a long time. Maybe 4 or 5 days. That's short for the Stones I would say.

Rehearsals started on 8/21 and ended 9/1. Don't know if they worked every day, but certainly more than 4 or 5.

No Filter - so we get the shows as it is and no rehearsals....

They did rehearse every day for hours. As usual. They were strong and sounded great, from where you could here in it side alleys where traffic and other noise were frequent. I don't see any point in posting a list of what they were rehearsing, as I have mentioned already. We will hear it all on Saturday.

Audience reaction isn't the whole story. I remember being at a show where they did Worried About You, which didn't register a crowd roar, but the lady next to me, who only clapped politely, said "What was that song? That was really cool!"
