The Rolling Stones in 1969 were beyond awesome!

Actually they were the only rock&roll band that survived the early sixties ('63-'66) back in '69

Followed maybe by The Who and The Kinks or were there more?

The hard part was surviving the 80's.

So many 60's musicians never recovered from exposure to 80's production values.

Thanks for posting this link, hbwriter. I love seeing concert footage from this tour.

I wonder if a recording of an entire 1969 MSG show exists. I have heard rumors ....

The late Albert Maysles did indeed screen an entire MSG 1969 show at his institute in Harlem for a select group from Shidoobee several years ago.

Its sad really...that so much archival footage will just sit on shelves never to see the light of day.
No doubt almost impossible with copyright issues etc..but be nice if Maysles Inc. simply released everything they had from the classic 1969 US tour...must be a treasure trove!
You live in hope....

I meant who was still active and good as the Stones in '69 from the bands of the early 60's.....

The Jeff Beck Group-Blind Faith-Santana-Ike & Tina Turner and Creedence were big in 69. The Kinks are not active as a band but certain members and the same goes for Clapton, Tina Turner, John Fogerty and Jeff Beck.
