I guess I never realized this was written by the Stones. Great vocal. Repetitive riff but straight forward.

The song morphed later as Soul Souiver on Exile.

That’s interesting. Soul survivor is another favourite.. out of interest has it ever been played live?

I do not think so but Wicked As It Seems has by Keith which is another song Keith
brilliantly comes up smiling smiley

A lot of similar guitar grooves and riffs from Keith. Silver Train did not get played live until recently because it sounded to much like All Down The Line smiling smiley

Silver Train was played live in 1973 for as least 4 times as I could find on Rocks Off

I think it's Keith at his freest and most gracious best.

Really deserved finishing for release. They just had so much good stuff in those days. Casting off pearls, ..... gems.

Isn't there a second rhythm guitar in there in places - Taylor?

Don't t think much of Metamrmorphosis. Nor did the Stones. They, via Wyman mainly I think, had been working on their own release of Sixties out-takes and alternatives. I guess Decca would still have had the rights and a large take? But Stones would have had artistic control.

From memory it was to have been called 'Black Box'

Do they now have the rights to tracks like Going Down and Moving Sister Fanny?
