I'm fairly sure that Phil Lesh plays one of at least one track on Anthem of the Sun, it's likely they used one on a few other albums in the early days.....American Beauty might have one in there but can't remember what tracks!

Either way, it;s a beautiful instrument and gives a beautiful sound....have a listen to some Bach played on one!

right. is it stu, brian, nicky or jack?

then there's this one:
Play With Fire
[www.youtube.com]

I realize the OP sort of eschews "2nd tier" Brian-era songs in the general quest for harpsichord in pop, and I know Ride On Baby certainly isn't considered a 'top tier' tune, even by me, tho I really love it.
Play With Fire might have to be considerd top tier tho I think. It was a big hit, and at least for me as I remember it's coming around on radio and record, it was a pretty big deal. Still love both those tunes.
I bet if they played Fire live the crowd would go nuts. It's mega drama. They should do it up sometime.

I don't know where Rene used to get his credits for the Track Talks, but he has both Play With Fire and Ride on Baby down to Jack Nitzsche.

Peter Tork's solo in the Monkees' The Girl I Knew Somewhere is quite interesting.
It's a fast, up-tempo pop song. Besides accenting the verses, he solos in the middle, whereas most bands would have a guitar there, or a piano, or a sax. But a harpsichord solo is a pretty interesting use here, it moves along at a pretty good pace.
