Just one final word before I drop out of this thread.

Nothing is official, as yet -- which makes the tone of this thread and the other one like it, speculative and in poor taste.

We should be content to have the patience to at least wait until an official word comes through. Most likely, this would be from a Rolling Stones PR rep, or a statement by Keith or someone on behalf of Keith.

Hope it isn't true, but if so I'll save any RIPs until the speculation has ended.

Rubbish.
Your post is the first one to even mention RIP when posted.
Only poor taste comment is your own

It means nothing unless Keith has been faxing about it."

Nothing wrong about commenting on the widespread reports.

why is is okay to speculate "Will the Stones tour this year?"
Because none of them have died.

fyi, if it isn't official, it's hearsay, rumor.

I still don't see an RIP attached to the thread title.

I can't believe it has to be explained to adults why using a message board to speculate on a death rumor that has yet to be officially confirmed is in poor taste and, yes, why some may find it offensive.

The RIP isn't attached to the thread title for the obvious reason that that assumes the story is true when the whole point of the thread is to verify that.

However, hbwriter's most recent posts do seem to verify the story. sad smiley (Or come closer, anyway.)

Exactly- thank you again for employing common sense over knee jerk emotion, as some seem to do

Why on earth would i say "RIP" if i'm asking for confirmation? What a stupid comment.

It's strange how this story has broken. All reports seem informed by Stella Schnabel. Also, no details given, although this is not uncommon at this early stage.

Not to detract from the story, merely an observation.

And no word from the BBC for some reason.

Yes, she has, sadly. Theodora just confirmed on Instagram. I think it must have been very sudden and unexpected. RIP Anita.

I shall be listening to a whole lot of You Got the Silver, with a bit of Memory Motel and Coming Down Again tonight.

Marianne on Anita: At the center, like a phoenix on her nest of flames…the wicked Anita….She was the most incredible woman I’d met in my life. Dazzling, beautiful, hypnotic and unsettling. Her smile—those carnivorous teeth!—obliterated everything. Other women evaporated next to her. She spoke in a baffling dada hipsterese. An outlandish Italo-Germanic-Cockney slang that mangled her syntax into surreal fragments….It was all part of her sinister appeal."

I was struggling to find a nice YouTube video(s) as a tribute to her. Perhaps what I have to offer is apropos and it is served up with a bit of a twist.

What a lovely tribute and must see photo!!!! .

The news was made public by Stella Schnabel, the daughter of painter and director Julian Schnabel. “I have never met a woman quite like you Anita,” she wrote on Instagram. “I don’t think there is anybody in this universe like you. No one has ever understood me so well.

For the older crowd here at IORR. When The Stones are doing good. performing and healthwise, we get confirmation and a boost and figure we are doing good too. Anita at age 73...she had a good run. Marianne is still around at 70. These older generations were built tougher and could handle drugs, alcohol and smoking better. lol...and Ronnie just gave up ciggies after having a lump from his lung excised. Ronnie is an iron man and will be the last Stone Standing.
