a friend of mime that knows/knew her is claiming that.

From La Stampa, in Italian.

Any further reports? I don't see anything except La Stampa (they're a respected publication, but nobody else seems to have picked up on it).

Hoping this is not true. There is nothing I can find in News other than the La Stampa article, but someone has updated Wiki.

Lots of confirmatory reports now, I'm sorry to say.

Satisfied since 1976

Mediamass just writes stories and then plugs in the names, depending on who you're googling, etc..

I may be looking in the wrong places, but I still don't see any confirmatory reports about Anita.

There do seem to be quite a few reports on this but nothing from a really reputable source

Couple twitter posts about it.. nothing official but..
Very sadly, it appears to be true.

"Go in peace" [per Stella Schnabel's Instagram post] seems to indicate that the end is very near. A subtle distinction. [Anyone can update Wikipedia, btw.]

We'll wait for Keith at least, or the Stones PR on behalf of Keith, to make an official statement -- until then, Twitter and Facebook don't count.

I know Dean, but they've gotten more reliable there. It's not a good sign.

Bebe Buell has been posting/tweeting about it, if that means anything.

Now that I look more closely, La Stampa is basing its report on this Instagram post:

It means nothing unless Keith has been faxing about it.

Just one final word before I drop out of this thread.

Nothing is official, as yet -- which makes the tone of this thread and the other one like it, speculative and in poor taste.

We should be content to have the patience to at least wait until an official word comes through. Most likely, this would be from a Rolling Stones PR rep, or a statement by Keith or someone on behalf of Keith.

Hope it isn't true, but if so I'll save any RIPs until the speculation has ended.

"I'm so sad to find out that my dear friend, mentor and London mother, Anita Pallenberg has passed away today

What an amazing woman. I'll never forget staying with her, dressing up in velvets together and eating 'Roman style' on the floor with rugs and cushions

She really took care of me when I lived in London

I'll see you next lifetime, my beautiful soulmate"

I don't see what's in poor taste about trying to prove/disprove the validity of a report. That's the responsible thing to do.

I agree- I posed this as a question- perhaps others could verify- i also waited til i saw it in several places and spoke with someone that knows her - why is is okay to speculate "Will the Stones tour this year?"

They get their information (or "information," depending on what the facts turn out to be) from the same place as the rest of us. Ditto all those people posting on Twitter.

Because none of them have died.

fyi, if it isn't official, it's hearsay, rumor.

I still don't see an RIP attached to the thread title.

I can't believe it has to be explained to adults why using a message board to speculate on a death rumor that has yet to be officially confirmed is in poor taste and, yes, why some may find it offensive.

The RIP isn't attached to the thread title for the obvious reason that that assumes the story is true when the whole point of the thread is to verify that.

However, hbwriter's most recent posts do seem to verify the story. sad smiley (Or come closer, anyway.)

RIP. She was very intelligent and she was stunning in her prime. We all feel a little bit older.
