I like all of those songs, except

Anyway You Look At It (boringboringboringboringboringboringzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Cook Cook Blues (can´t be called a song really, can it?)

Sad Day (I don´t even remember it but I remember not liking it)

I Think I´am Going Mad (I think this is the boring one that´s only saved by David Sanborn)

Through The Lonely Nights (never liked this boring ditty, their worst b-side, imo)

My favorites are:
Jump On Top Of Me***
So Young***
The Storm
Everything Is Turning To Gold***
Dandelion
Child Of The Moon***
Fancy Man Blues***

***much too good to end up on a b-side, especially Jump On Top Of Me and Fancy Man Blues.

But might be better to stay with the studio cuts

The best non-album track b-side: Child Of The Moon

again, talk about b-side generally means non-album tracks ... YCAGWYW i wouldn't count.

Also, similar to Let's Spend/Ruby ... that may have also been a dual a-side single. Even if not, it still lacks in that it's shortened and doesn't have the choir!

In particular when it's even a different version in the case of YCAGWYW (no choir intro).

B-sides are b-sides, of course ... but when someone starts a topic like this, it's much easier to say "b-side" than "non-album track" ... b-sides came to be known in the 80s as: extra songs not on the album.

Now as singles are mostly digital, even bsides are mostly gone ... now we're lucky if we get 'bonus imported tracks' smiling smiley

In the '60s, however, singles were important. For the Rolling Stones as well. And as a European I have a claim to think about "Let's Spend the Night Together" / "Ruby Tursday" as a single.

Old Stones: Child of the Moon
Mid Stones: Through the Lonely Nights
New Stones: Jump on Top of Me

There is just something about Child of the Moon. The Stones made a small but profound and important mark on Psychedelic Rock.

All of these tracks were released as b-sides (7" singles or CD-singles) - except for Under The Radar & Don't Wanna Go Home. I've included these because they were only released on a bonus DVD but not on an actual album. Now the trend is to release outtakes as bonus tracks on deluxe version of albums instead of releasing them as "b-sides".

Either you make it a separate question for Europe and USA then, or you in reality make it a question of a list for the USA alone. Because to many Europeans "Ruby Tuesday has to be among the considered candidates for a best B-side.

My vote goes to:
Jump on Top of Me - Maybe the best track from the VL sessions - love the guitar weave
Who's Driving Your Plane? - Could have fit in on Blue and Lonesome

Honorable mention to:
Let it Rock - It's a live cover so it belongs in another category with some of the live non-album B-sides.

HBK

Jump ON Top Of ME - one of my top five Stones tunes period - every part of it,

The guitars

Mick at his best - vocals and harmonica.

I love this song

70: Everything Turning To Gold, with honorable mention to "Through The Lonely.."
80s: Think I'm Going Mad
90s: Jump On Top of Me

Some of my favorites tracks among these could be Under The Radar & Dance (2003 live version)

There are a good bunch of tracks/versins here, which are not b-sides, but rarities and stray tracks. My thread asked for what b-sides are people's favourites...

But again, the goal of my post was not to talk all the other rarities stuff.
The "B-side" as I meant it, is original tracks that appeared on flip-sides of singles and which had not appeared on any original album (UK and US).

Then remove Under The Radar and Don't Wanna Go Home from my list and you'll get only "tracks that appeared on flip-sides of singles". smiling smiley

And what about "When The Whip Comes Down (Detroit, USA, July 6, 1978)"? It's undoubtedly a fantastic version, but I have yet to come across a single which has it as its b-side.

Either you make it a separate question for Europe and USA then, or you in reality make it a question of a list for the USA alone. Because to many Europeans "Ruby Tuesday has to be among the considered candidates for a best B-side.

Or leave it as he did ... it was fairly obvious what he meant, not to mention he included the tracks of choices.

For a European who bought so many 60s singles back then, it would be a stupid set of choices, which does not include "Ruby Tuesday" as an option for a possible best B-side.

that single is considered a double A side. a single released where either side could be played as the single. it was done that way because a lot of stations weren't going to play "lets spend the night together" because of the lyrics so they were able to play "ruby Tuesday" in the current single slot for the stones instead

Are you sure this was the intent when they released it, or wouldn't it rather be what happened AFTER radio stations started cencoring the A-side?

HTW/YCAGWYW was also called a double A-side, but it wasn't by release time.

I don't have any information on when that decision was made
