Asking people to agree to be "denacified", obliviated and stop existing as a nation (particularly in face of strong evidence of atrocities) is beyond comprehension, however well is is informed.

Roger Waters isn’t always right, but he is very well informed.

He is not at all well informed, and neither is he right. Anybody well-informed would never have written that letter.

So every artist that doesn't agree on your opinion has fallen? This kind of attitude is part of the problem when it comes to "endure" and understand or at least accept other persons point of view.

No, but this time it is about reality, not opinion. Waters' opinion is very far from reality. Sometimes a line gets crossed and you can no longer accept as valid someone's particular points of view, even if they once wrote some good songs, and since Waters is so vehemently wedded to his POV, making it a central part of his act, in this case it does mean he has made himself unlistenable, at least for me!

BV, I'm sorry, and this may mean I'm gone from here but Roger Waters is a JEW HATER and I find any thread concerning him highly offensive.

I'm seeing Roger Saturday night & am looking forward to it. Have had the tickets for 3 years. I've seen the show on video so I know what I'm getting into. I can differentiate between the art & the artist. I agree with him on a lot of stuff but definitely not on everything.

Saw him in Nashville a few weeks ago. Sheep and Two Suns in the Sunset were cool to see and hear.

Horrible thing to say about a person you don't know and a way to shut down everybody you do not agree with. I suggest to not read OT threads with Roger as the main subject in order not to get "offended".

Look fool, his use of an inflatable pig with a swastica on it is enough for me to say I "know" him. I lost many family members in the holocaust.

Please report your thoughts after the show. Should be one of the best shows you've seen. Sound and visuals are elite.

And you somehow think you are the only one? Not withstanding, knowing someone because you've seen some of his stage props, is doubtable if not delusional. You will not convince me with this offended and fool attitude.

Had tickets for tomorrow night but got a refund a long time ago. Saw him when he was here a few years ago, great show for the visual spectacle.

When the tickets went on sale initially I got lucky & got really good ones in the inexpensive zone. So I hung onto them. Turns out with the stage being unique I guessed right. I've seen a video of the whole thing. Probably not quite as awesome as the Us & Them show but it's close. He's doing Sheep, so between the 2 I'll have seen him perform all of Animals. My favorite Pink Floyd record.

I don't think there can be any doubt about his views (or rather delusions?).

I love Animals. I was at The Wall show, Us & Them show and This is Not a Drill show (all in Nashville). Combining the Us & Them setlist with the This is Not a Drill show setlist, you also get 8/9 of Dark Side of the Moon.

From today's Edmonton Journal:

REVIEW: Roger Waters delivered solid classics and staunch ideals at Rogers Place

"Even the most skeptical, apolitical Floyd fan would have been happy with Waters’ show, which ran somewhere past the two-hour mark and hit all the classic-rock buttons.
Some of them might have even come out with a few things to think about, and likely Waters would be more pleased with that than just simply entertaining them".

Rogers father was killed fighting nazis in WW11.criticism of a governments actions doesn’t equate to hating its people.
I’m old enough to remember Vietnam, anti-war=commie and of course Iraq.I think then it was “backing a brutal dictator who had weapons of mass destruction”if you didn’t buy the bullshit.
Boy was I wrong, lucky we got in there in time and saved the world again.

This war is about 5.4 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.Putin is trying to take it and our “military aid” is saving Exxon Mobil and chevrons interests.(again)
Zelinsky is a fraud and a puppet, if you read the pandora papers that becomes clear.
But we carry on, if we stay the course a win is at hand just like they told us in Vietnam.
Asking for a peace treaty and making a deal for the resources or at least trying to get the puppets wife to see reason seems well, reasonable to me.

I've never read such moronic rubbish. Apart from Waters' disgraceful letter, that is. Good grief.

To obtain other perspectives, enter
commons.com.ua/en
Scroll down to 28.07. There is an article by Taras Bilous. "I'm a Ukrainian Socialist. Here is why I Resist the Russian Invasion".

And if you want more, enter the site of the independent Russian site
medusa.io/en
Scroll down to their interview (today it is thirteen days ago) with the same Taras Bilous under the title "Lets not exaggerate Russian propaganda's influence".

I find more information and insight in those two articles than in what you claim here, or in what I read of sayings from Roger Waters. Really! It is obvious!

Can we please keep the politics out of this & stick to music? There are plenty here who wish to talk about the music & performance which we won't be able to do if the thread gets shut down. As this is a music forum not a political roundtable this doesn't seem to be an outlandish request. If you don't like Roger's politics or things that he may or may not have said just skip the thread. There's too much fighting in the world & it's good we can escape it here for a brief time.

People like you will never be convinced. You're likely in the "holocaust didn't happen" realm.

I was talking about your attitude. Good aeguments delivered in apropriate words might convince me. Instead you're shutting down the conversation with nonsense. And that last sentence, you may want to rethink it.

Show tonight. I was looking at the tickets & they were bought in January 2020, just a few days before we heard about COVID for the first time. I had 2 friends back out of going this week (both with very good reasons). Called another friend & he wants to go so I lucked out. I looked at the ticket availability & there are lots available. Looks like a lot of people took the refund & didn't repurchase.

Thanks. Enjoy your's next year, too. I'm still beat up from last week's Nine Inch Nails roadtrip but there was no way I was going to miss this. 1 Waters & 2 NIN shows in a month is a very good month indeed!

I just saw NIN in Las Vegas! Good show but doesn't hold a candle to the 7 shows I saw 1994/1995 but nothing does, really.

I was the one who sent you a note about NIN in Oregon in comments on your website (chuckrh). I'm glad you were able to get a ticket. I saw them in 94/95 more than once, the best being the show with Bowie. My all time favorite concert. I also saw the very first show on the Downward Spiral tour in Seattle. I've seen them a lot. It has fun been watching Trent grow as an artist. He's a very different artist now. NIN is the rare band that gets better as they evolve. The current live band are all amazing musicians & the lights etc are always stellar. + near perfect sound. My email is listed on my profile if you ever want to get in touch offline. I know we have at least 1 mutual friend. I hope someone got a tape of Vegas. winking smiley
