Also any suggestions as to what might be some Stones-related places to visit while in Paris. The only thing I can think of is the Crazy Horse - the maid in Live With Me.

Also, the Crazy Horse is where Mick and Jools Holland hung out in 1985 for a She's the Boss-related TV special.

Similarly obscure: The Bois de Boulogne is near U Arena. Some bones may still be buried.

Perhaps BV will arrange an IORR gathering like he did for the Pilot in London just a stones throw (ha ha) from the O2 at the end of the ABB tour.

It's a pass for me on buried people:
"Two teenagers were rescued from the catacombs beneath Paris on Wednesday after being lost for three days in the pitch-black tunnels of the underground burial ground."

Got tickets for the 10/19 and 10/22 shows! I'm coming from Green Bay WI to see the Stones. Are any of you planning to stay at a particular hotel in Paris? Sort of a IORR Hotel Central location? smiling smiley

As far as hotels, on the fence between the Hilton and the Sofitel in Nanterre, near the venue. Depends on whether I have a friend joining me for the gig. If not, it'll be the Hilton. I personally like to get into my hotel as soon as possible after the show and not commute. Granted Nanterre/La Défense is easily accessible by metro from Paris.

I was looking at the Hilton, Sofitel and Pullman hotels in La Defense. However the girlfriend might be coming with to Paris (not going to the concert) and she wants to stay a little closer to central paris. So we'll see. smiling smiley

Castells
Date: June 18, 2017 20:51

What about this place? Brian & Anita hung out there in the early late 60's -70's, from Dave Davies post on Facebook. He posted a video of Anita at one of his shows pre-Stones.

Castells looks awesome and it will be really cool if we can meet up for drinks on Sat. night, we can channel Anita and Brian's spirit.

Chances are you'll be turned away at the door. Castel is/was a super-selective joint. There's a system of membership (with card) which prevents "outsiders" from gaining entrance.
In the 60's-70's the words "I spent the night chez Castel" would come from the lips of famous actors or billionaires... or Jagger's! grinning smiley

Jean Castel is dead so the new management might be more flexible but don't hold your breath. It's not your average bar.

Fellow Stones Fans,

I live near Toronto, Canada and am wanting to surprise my wife with a trip to France this October.
She studied for a semester in Paris while at University.

Ideally, we will spend 5 days in France and 5 days in London.

What I'm hoping for is some local help from fellow IORR members in terms of getting lodging (recommendations or renting a room) help getting tickets and IORR fans to hang out with.

Many Thanks!

www.oyster.com is great for pictures and brief reviews of hotels also.

Thanks for the explanation, it looks so cool I just imagine Anita and Brian and The Kinks hanging out there, Maybe I should go to the Crazy Horse unless it's a tourist trap. Any advice on that?

There's plenty of (classy) female nudity there. But the show is run by team of women so it's not as sleazy as your average strip joint.
I'm sure Jagger never went there, he just heard about it. winking smiley

I haven't been there but I have been to france many times and the Crazy Horse is the definition of a tourist trap.

You should really find a good Travel Agent. Travel Agents do not cost you any money to book hotels and they have access to wholesalers that are lower priced than all the OTA's (online travel agencies like Expedia, Travelocity and Priceline) Period. And they are there to help you.

No one needs a travel agent these days they are a dying breed and rightfully so.
All you need is to use some initiative and do some research and you can easily find the best prices yourself.

Again, Why, when someone will do it for you. Do you personally call the hotel before booking to find out if renovations are happening or they are building next door? Successful people who work on computers don't need to spend any more time on the computer than they have to!
