That's Philadelphia August 28. Of course not Syracuse or Washington September 23. The "3CD" rehearsal concert. The don't do stage rehearsals four weeks into a tour, let alone incl. Shattered that was dropped after Philadelphia August 31.

Strange...

The length of the video is about 2 hours, 30 min, including the power delay and the intro.

The last show they did in 2016 had 18 songs, but the total length of the show (at least going by the review) is about 2 hours, 15 min. So that's 10 less songs, but still a 2+ hour show.

150 min/28 songs = 5.35 min per song avg
135 min/18 songs = 7.5 min per song avg

Faster tempos in '89? Less time between songs? Less dragging out of the outros?

Some songs, especially MR, but also Satisfaction and others are very extended now (too long). I'd prefer shorter versions, but 3-4 songs more.

This is the source for the "Better Than The real Rebirth" and the "Dead Man Cumming " box set. The box set was supposed to have one of the rehearsal show videos included but after turning over the audio the provider backed out on the video and only provided part of the 89 LA show. This was uploaded on yt a few years back and then taken down.

Listen to the crowd during Shattered - it's a shame that they dropped it.

Weird how Shattered ended on a good timing. It sounded like they stopped like that on purpose.

I was thinking the same thing...I expected it to be very comical, but it really sounded like they just ended the song naturally.

Better Than The Real Rebirth is the 2nd, the other rehearsal "show" from the day after.

You are right there, I never realized until you mentioned it that the rebirth disc (which was released first) is the same as the SECOND disc set of the dead man cumming boxset although to further add to the confusion on both boots it is claimed to be from foxboro sept 29. The rehearsal videos are the audio sources tho.

It's for sure not Foxboro or Washington, the date on the video is wrong. The mentioned tapes are obviously JFK Stadium, August 28 & 29. They booked both stadiums in Philly at the time. That's full concert rehearsals with the same setlist as the first show (beginning with a jam, 1st tape). It can't be from late September. Why rehearse full sets four weeks into the tour with the vintage setlist?

If that is available on bootleg it may be one of the most valuable things to ever hear from the Stones.

Not only is it 99% of "Shattered," but they played it almost the same as in 1981/82. That is a revelation.

Much slower Start Me Up than most of the '89/90 shows.

Best bootleg is the 3CD and 2CD on SODD. There's one of each very cheap at discogs.com

But better! It sounded similar to the SPARKS WILL FLY bootleg Giants Stadium 8-14-94 show only a bit faster.

What a drag. They should've kept it in!

Yes, in mid-August.
