Old Mel knew a great song when he heard it and he considered Donald Fagen to be one of America's greatest living composers.
He covered Fagen's "Walk Between Raindrops" on his 1988 album Reunion.
Mel Torme sings that song like it was written just for him to sing...

Good show Saturday night in St. Augustine. Setlist was heavy with Steely Dan songs. He has dropped Beast Of Burden apparently.
