Really poor excuse that the Stones cannot play any UK dates because there are no available venues. These tours are organised many months in advance. To say that they couldn't find any venues in Sept or October is ridiculous.

It all fuels the rumour mill that this could be the start of their last world tour and coming home to London where they will play what could well be their last shows.

Is there a ramp surrounding the No Filter Pit, for the band to move around (like the tongue Stage from the Super Bowl)?

Totally agree. I'm sure it's just for tax reasons and nothing else. We already had that in the past years - no UK in the same year as the European gigs.
It's no good idea playing Stadiums in UK in October either.

Direct question to all the folks out here -
I see the info about 'Lucky Dip' on RS.com;
so there WiLL be 'Dips' around this year as well... Lucky us! smoking smiley

Anybody over here knows how & when these will go on sale?
will they be a 'ticket option' with the online presales?
Or will they go on sale seperately/ differently?

Will probably be released in waves later on?

as I mentioned before: in 2014 lucky dip tickets went on sale a few days after the show in Berlin sold out

The fact that they have responded about the UK gig issue (they dont usually respond like this) suggests that something is in the pipeline for next summer on these shores. Just a case of being patient I guess and hopping that the band stay fit, healthy and on form!

The Irish Mirror had this to say about the rumored gig in Ireland yesterday:

Quote
According to the Irish Sun, a disagreement over gate money led to the break down of plans. ... A source said: 'The deal was very close to being signed. But they wanted too much of the gate money and won't be playing Ireland now.'

Yes, especially when you have Millennium/Principality Stadium in Cardiff which is the seond biggest stadium in the world with retractable roof and does not have one single event listed in their calendar for september and october.

BUT, the good news is, of course, that they'll likely Return to UK next year! My guess is the New Wembley Stadium. They have some unfinished business there after the 2006 reschedule to Twickenham.

I think they'll do two nights at Wembley too. While the World Cup is on. They do love playing the UK at that time.

A 2017 European Tour without any U.K. dates?

Does that qualify as a European tour?

Just curious from NYC.

It happened in 1998 as well, no?

Re: European Tour 2017

It happened in Sept/Oct 1970...Ronnie Schneider will remember it well!
It was then followed in March 1971 by the 'Farewell to UK' small gigs jaunt.

Will history repeat itself?

So if Mick strolls onto a UK stadium stage in 2018 will he say

"....sorry we didn't get here last year... but we were delayed & it would have been too cold "

Or "...sorry we didn't make it last year...but the tax man would have been after some of us ! "

grinning smiley
But seriously, the delayed start is likely the issue.

If they wanted to do stadiums it wouold have been too late in the year and maybe the indoor venues weren't favoured or available .

When I am in UK my UK friends use to say stuff like they are going to "Europe" when they in fact mean they are going to mainland Europe i.e. crossing the channel. I suppose that is a way of talking but still...

Oh man, I have exactly the same Problem. I had premium Standing tix for Amsterdam and Stockholm already in the cart but couldn't pay as I'm still waiting for those bloody TAN nos.

For Amsterdam they offered another payment Option though straight from your bank account, not credit Card. But also here you must have TAN nos for your account.

That really ruined half of my day yesterday.

In Holland it is not possible. But from Germany you can pay via "Sofortüberweisung"

LOL! smileys with beer

In the excellent 1999 docu from Ginger TV (get it from here, unzip and enjoy! - 3,2 GB ) Mick also mentioned gigs which were officially announced before but had to be canceled again due to tax issues - like they would loose the profits from 18 shows of that tour if they would had taken place and thus they had to postpone them to the next year...

Spurs are playing their home games at Wembley Stadium from August this year. They will be in the Champions League too so that has ruled out Wembley.

Ups, sorry, my typo ... it's corrected!

At best make a right click and choose 'save under ...' and have a little patience, according to your connection ... :-)
