1) I never thought Harry Nillson was the genius everyone said he was

2) I always thought Capt Beefhearts 'Trout Mask Replica" was garbage- not an epic album everyone said it was

3) I was a fan of Glen Campbell

4) The Dixie Chicks are a guilty pleasure

5) I thought Linda McCartney was way cooler than Yoko

Boy ! I feel better already ! Confession is good for the soul

Bob and I must think a lot alike. These are what I called digging down deep confessions. I can say all 5 of these I agree with.

Ok, my confessions:

* I like ABBA, and prefer them above the Beatles as a pop-band
* Speaking of the Beatles, I admire McCartney for Hey Jude and Yesterday, Lennon for sticking up for Yoko Ono, Yoko Ono for sticking up for Lennon, George Harrison for his three good songs and Ringo for nothing
* I can't stand Frank Zappa
* Never listened to Grateful Dead
* I can't stand Frank Sinatra either

I never consider Led Zeppelin as one of the best rock group of all times, morover, I can stand Stairway to Heaven, and I Like Canned Heat better than Zeppelin.

Barry Gibb is one of the top ten songwiters in pop music.

The guy from Roxette is also a very good pop songwriter.

I had potato chips and chocolate for lunch yesterday.

Oops! Wrong thread.

Okay, I liked Christopher Cross's album. In fact, I own it and I kinda still like it.

i like the temptations' versions of 'Just My Imagination' and 'Aint Too Proud To

Beg' better than the Stones'..

I love late 60s-early 70s bubblegum music. KC and The Sunshine band, too.

Love Van Morrison, but can't get into Astral Weeks.

I like almost all of Rod Stewart's music of the 20th century.

Truly love Tommy James and The Shondells, as well as Cheap Trick.

Snoop is only rapper I'll listen too - great sense of humor (weed induced?)

I like listening to crappy amateur audience recordings of Stones shows circa 72-73 so much that sometimes I wonder if I'm not a bit snobbish... >grinning smiley<

As for me... I once forewent seeing what would be a brilliant Stones show to spend a weekend with a girl... Quebec City '98.. kinda regret it to this day... kinda..

Maybe the worst confession of any:

In the beginning - yes, at that time - I liked the Beatles better than the Rolling Stones!

But, but, but .... it changed! And first then I experienced fanship.

I was at the CBC years ago when Burton recorded Up Close And Alone, and he played that. It made me giggle - both times!

I always found it odd that I am not that much into Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin or U2. Now I see that I am not alone!
Not that I hate them but they are more like meh to me... well, maybe I hate U2 or at least 90% of their output.

The really funny thing is that I've been doing an impression of Gordie for years and the first time I met Burton, he did it. We sat around laughing at each other's silly impressions.

Patsy Cline's - Crazy ........ always wrecks the heart .....

Crazy
Crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue
I knew
You'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday
You leave me for somebody new ....... LD

When I feel really stressed, my go-to coping music is tacky 1990s-2010s party music (think 'Macarena,' 'Crank That (Soulja Boy),' 'Pump Up The Jam,' 'Fergalicious,' etc.).
