I thought this might be a fun topic. Share your confessions regarding musical knowledge etc that might be strange, embarrassing or just fun.
So I start with mine. I consider myself quite knowledgeable when it comes to music and I listen to a lot of various music styles but mostly to rock and obviously the Stones are my favourites.
Now I must admit that I have never ever in my whole life, at least not consciously, listened to one single song from The Grateful Dead or from Frank Zappa. Both have quite an important place in music history and I just never had the urge to just go online and listen to one of their songs.
Your turn.

Zappa is worth giving a chance, start with ''Over-nite sensation' and ''One Size Fits All'', those are very easy to grasp.

My confession is listening to Kiss, I like all their albums except those from the Lick It Up and Heavens on Fire era.

Kiss would have been the third band I almost named, haha. But I have heard one or two of their songs - well, I just remember I Was Made for Loving You or whatever the name of the song is.

No confession to make .......maybe one, I did like Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood back in 1969

I have the lyrics memorized to all the songs on The Backstreet Boys CD. In my defense, my girls listened to it incessantly. That and the soundtrack to the musical Cats. Spent an entire car ride back and forth from Virginia to Ohio with Memories....

He wrote some beautiful melodies. A shame, too, that he got thrown out of the We Are The World project.

I like lots of stuff I wouldn't name rock music. How about the Carpenters, eh?

Confession 1- I love a lot of the 60s/70s AOR bands, but really never got into The Who, The Doors, or the Kinks. I have each of their greatest hits collections but they could easily be coasters on my table.

Confession 2- worked at a record store in early 90s so an album arrived "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 by George Michael (I loathed Wham and Duran Duran),so I bought it and it was excellent.

Confession 3- I don't think Lennon's solo career was genius level work and much of it is unlistenable.

Confession 4- When the Black Crowes were together and touring, they do a much better job of sounding like the Stones on covers than the Stones. In fact- with the current Magpie Salute, I wish Mick would join them and we can have a pretty close to early 70s Stones show.

I just heard a guy in clown face call a Marshall 2555X amp "a box of knobs" I am still laughing my arse off .I don't know which is funnier the actual remark or the clown face call it a box of knobs (by the way across the front panel it's presence ,bass mid, treble, output master ,lead master and gain )

I think Grandfunk Rairoad did a fine cover of "Gimme Shelter"
I think Bluc Oyster Cult have crafted more memorable riffs than the (dreadful) Led Zep did.
