You are so right. I saw the title of the thread and was all set to add the Stooges, the greatest live band I ever saw, but you beat me too it. Actually, I agree with each and every one of your picks. A nice, well rounded list.

debra...gotta disagree about british rock rules (tons of great artists, of course)however: chuck berry, elvis presley, creedence clearwater revival, the new york dolls, iggy & the stooges, the ramones, jerry lee lewis, the dictators, jason & the scorchers, the georgia satellites, the replacements, the plimsouls, mc5, big star, the byrds, bob dylan, buddy holly, flamin' groovies, the sonics, velvet underground, Johnny thunders & the heartbreakers, the cramps,little richard, the sir douglas quintet, etc....best to all

I cannot help but think that any Rolling Stones fan who saw The Joe Ely Band of the mid-80s to early 90s featuring David Grissom and Bobby Keyes would put them near the top. One of the best kept secrets ever...
