Let's be straight about this. ABB is an above average album. But with such high expectations that accompanies the Stones also accompanies our high expectations. There's nothing wrong with it.

Some Girls: 3 and half stars (Great at the time but sounds dated to me now)
Emotional Rescue: 3 stars
Tattoo You: 3 stars (Some really good songs but not a unified sound)
Undercover: 3 and half to 4 stars (Jaggers lyrics were great & a return to form)
Dirty Work: 1 star (and that is for One Hit - the rest was pretty abysmal IMO)
Steel Wheels: 1 star (overproduced)
Voodoo Lounge: 2 and half stars (these songs sound better live)
Bridges To Babylon: 2 stars
A Bigger Bang: Haven't made up my mind on this but sounds formulaic

Some Girls: 5/5 (Excellent!)

Emotional Rescue: 4/5 (Good, but has Indian Girl)

Tattoo You: 4 and a half/5 (Ballad side doesn't flow as well as Rock side)

Undercover: 5/5 (Don't give me that "oh no 80's production" shit, this is a CLASSIC record)

Dirty Work: 3/5 (Some good songs, a few ok songs, and two shit songs)

Steel Wheels: 4/5 (Underrated, too many people with the 80's production bullshit again, solid record)

Voodoo Lounge: 3/5 (Some strong material, but THIS is their most overproduced record, ridiculously overrated)

Bridges To Babylon: 4 and a half/5 (Strongest record since Undercover, most underrated Stones record)

(Lowest is one star. Highest is 6 stars).

> Some Girls **** 2nd half of it is the redeemer. Would not have been good without that. Still a great one.

> Emotional Rescue ** Great guitar playing that deserved better songs.

> Tattoo You ****1/2 Good one. It's as good as Some Girls, but it wins by Start Me Up.

> Undercover *** OK album. Undercover and She Was Hot are great gems. Still it doesn't have the quality of either Some Girls or Tattoo You.

> Dirty Work * Their worst ever. Breaks the laws of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time.

> Steel Wheels *** Some great ones on it, but also some really bad ones. Dated production.

> Voodoo Lounge *****1/2 One of their best. Lots and lots of great tracks on here. Bill Wyman ins't missed on this one.

> Bridges To Babylon **** Not as good as Some Girls, but it still gets the same amount of stars since it wouldn't be fair to give it only ***1/2 stars. Good experiment with a few suckers.

> A Bigger Bang ***** Love it to death. Biggest Mistake and Let Me Down Slow are the worst, although they kindda redeem themselves on mulitple listens. Back Of My Hand has the ghost of Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson in them, and Rough Justice is an instant classic.

Some Girls: 9/10 Always in the stones heavy CD rotation?
Emotional Rescue: 5/10 Add the rockers to the Some Girls CD as bonus tracks
Tatto You: 7/10 Great era, great tour, mixed CD
Undercover: 6/10 Never play it
Dirty Work: 4/10 Er uh, Chuck Levell gets writing creidt ???
Talk is Cheap 8/10 One of the best "Stones" albums of the 80's...I still play it a lot
Steel Wheels: 6/10 does anyone ever listen to this CD? I thought I heard you yawn.
Voodoo Lounge: 7/10 Close but Wandering Spirit is SO much better
Wandering Spirit 9/10 Best Stones material in 90's and 00's - BY FAR
Main Offender 8/10 Better grooves than most 90's Stones and better Keith
Bridges To Babylon: 8/10 Best post Some Girls CD?
Goddess in the Doorway 6.5/10 OK, thats enuff out of Mick
Bigger Bang: 7/10 I REALLY tried to love this CD but...

And live ablums are generally iPOD filler! But I am always partial to Still Life and Stripped (Companion?) And the filler on 40 Licks is filler.

Some Girls - to have HUGE songs like "Shattered" "Beast of Burden" "Miss You" all come from one freakin' album is highly respectable. Grade: A+

Emotional Rescue - some clunkers on this one. "Indian Girl"--yawn. "Down In the Hole"--ick. Grade: B

Tattoo You - Grade: A

Undercover - Grade: B-

Dirty Work - Grade: D-

Steel Wheels - Grade: C-...none of these songs except for "Terrifying" "Can't Be Seen" "Slipping Away" is worth another listen.

Voodoo Lounge - Grade B+ Pure rock and roll with no @#$%& around. The fast songs rock and the slow songs wail. The album is dripping with guitars

Bridges To Babylon - Grade: A-...love the anger in the album in songs like "Out of Control" and "Gunface". Keith's most underrated and overlooked riff: "Too Tight" Deleting "Flip The Switch" "Anybody seen..." would make it a perfect album. The other songs outshine the clunkers.

A Bigger Bang - Grade: A+...they did something really good here. Without them even knowing it they've made an album with songs that are really tough to get out of your head. "Rough Justice" is a song I can listen to all day and never get tired of. Although there are some Godawful ones on here like "She Saw Me Coming" "Biggest Mistake" "This Place Is Empty"...they easily get lost in a pile of some kick ass songs like "Infamy" "Look What the Cat..." "Dangerous Beauty" "Driving Too Fast" "Let Me Down Slow"

Let's check the competition for these:

Some Girls - Grease soundtrack
Tattoo - Bette Davis Eyes
Undercover - Duran Duran
Dirty Work - Culture Club
Steel Wheels - Bon Jovi
Voodoo - Hootie
Bridges - Celine
ABB - Timberlake

All of 'em smoke their competition. To quote "Winning Ugly" - Damn The Competition! Stones rule!
