It might be one of those things that can't be repeated. Back then Keith was still wild. His intuitive chops were limber and exciting. It would probably be good but nothing like what it was. Keith's Desert Trip performances of T&A, with him barely even playing the essential guitar parts (compare to 1981 or Winos gigs) dimmed my hopes for high exceptions of Keith in the future. If he's gonna do anything he needs to play his signature rhythm parts, not just stand there singing and hitting one chord every few bars.
Ya got a point there DP! That version is pretty weak. The thing that frustrates me these days is that a song like T&A is virtually driven and propelled by Keith's rhythm guitar. To hear him do the intro and just stop playing while he sings leaves a gaping hole in the sonic canvas. I know he's old now but still....Quote

It was a giant leap in quality, compared to the SAL-version, though
