Charlie is interviewed for this documentary but the other band members are not. I wonder, particularly in light of the fact that Keith and Ronnie were interviewed for the Darryl documentary, whether:

1.) Bill simply didn’t ask them to be a part of the film; or

2.) Bill asked them and they turned it down (whether it is because they have a complex relationship with Bill or there is simply no relationship at all anymore, despite what Bill say)

It would be interesting to know. I suspect it’s more likely number 1!

could be a lot of reasons.

they know too much about him.. so Bill didnt ask ..

Maybe Bill didn't want to over emphasize his Stones years. And Charlie is a real friend and they have stayed close long after Bill's Stones days were over.

Yes, Bill put out 'Rolling with the Stones' but that was different from his first book in both style and content.
He has promised to publish his Diaries but maybe his lawyers talked him out of that.
Also a book about Gedding Halll which has been his country home for some 50 plus years.
The film is more than welcome, however.

Oh well.

If that's the worst that happens to him, he got off pretty light.

OMG how ridiculous I read the first couple lines of link.

Put it on Netflix Showtime HBO Disney whoever we can ‘rent’ it from and we WILL!

2ndly, prissy Sheffield/ BBC whomever make up your mind- the new million dollar Richard Gere drama released 3 weeks ago: the reviews I read were not good as it seems first 2 episodes had such graphic vulgar familial sex stuff 2019 in your face.
ironic innit.

I can't find anything on Twitter prior to tweets about the Deadline story, so where did this alleged social media backlash take place? How many people even know or care that much about Bill or the Sheffield Film Festival?

As a bass player for the Rolling Stones Wyman was an integral part of the group. He was one of the key elements of that great rhythm section which defined the band. From what I've read Wyman's contribution went pretty much unappreciated by the Glimmer Twins. Also it would seem he never gelled as a close mate with the others and remained a bit of an outsider throughout his time with them. Many argue his departure took away an important dynamic of the band's sound. In interviews he comes across as a throughly decent chap content in his old age with his marriage and family. And yet his wooing of 13 year old Mandy Smith when he was 47 and whom he later married when she turned 18 still casts a disquieting shadow for many.

You know what, I have read thoroughly on Bill Wyman’s relationship prior to being MARRIED TO MANDY SMITH.
I do not agree with ages and dates (38 YEARS AGO) of said husband and wife, not my housekeeping, but do NOT
mix this relationship up with any other situation please. No perjury, no hiding, the glamour wedding attended by other band members was front page news, I myself was collecting magazines on the Stones when it was puffy 80’s wedding dress news in 1983.

I stand up for Bill Wyman after reading all the facts, life conducted after his divorce from Mandy, etc.

I look forward to seeing the documentary, and am grateful to the Wyman family for sharing.

Goodbye and thank you.

Never heard a single word of Wyman being violent in any way though. So, why the Meetoo then?

I wonder why Bill gets the rap and not Mick and Ronnie, it's like Bill is out on his own now, he doesn't get that comfort bubble of the Stones organisation.

If that's the standard, they will have to remove Picasso's paintings from museums, remove Chaplin's star from Hollywood Boulevard, ban Jerry Lee Lewis' songs (again), ban Elvis' music and remove Gauguin's paintings from museums. The list goes on and on ...

I don't do social media and i certainly wouldn't start a thread like this, i just feel Bill gets singled out even though he married Mandy, i mean he obviously loved her and his intentions were honorable.
I hate social media BTW.
