I was hoping it would be much sooner, but oh well. Hopefully there'll be a blu-ray release also.

I'll be picking this one up for sure!

thumbs up

I'm hoping to preorder this soon, but I can't find any vendors/outlets showing this available on Blu-ray.

Has anyone seen that availability?

thanks

Haven´t heard about Blu-ray, haven´t heard about any extras either.
Would love it in best possible resolution too, though much of it is 8mm archive of course... winking smiley Seen it?

Available to buy in the UK from Amazon US.
So with post and packaging it costs over £19.
Why isn't it available from UK outlets?
Also the Bill Wyman Amazon page has a photo which definitely isnt one of Bill !!

Thanks guys, I can see it’s available in the US. I have UK Amazon Prime but the film isn’t available yet to the UK and the DVD isn’t compatible with UK region.

I’m guessing it’s not possible to watch or buy in the UK yet.

Its a great little film.

I would suggest those who ask for a lending hand open their emails so lending hands may be extended. Or mail me.

I finally saw it last night. Decided weeks ago I'd watch it on Bill's birthday.

Rented it on Google Play TV for $5.

Glad I just rented it. Good to see it, but I don't need to own this one.

Though it beats "Crossfire Hurricane" simply because it bothers to mention Ian Stewart which remains an unforgivable omission in "Crossfire Hurricane".

Saw it last night. Uh.................there's nothing there, there. It kind of goes along the line of Crossfire Hurricane, without revealing much. I felt like the film teases some kind of archives that we never see. Or at least we don't see much from the actual archives. I was expecting rare clips, heretofore unseen live footage, etc. I don't feel I learned anything new.

That is DEFINITELY Terry Taylor.

I've alerted interested parties and perhaps they can get it changed. Bizarre.

PS. Thanks jlowe for the link. I had actually spent some time trying to get Amazon.com to show me something, but that never came up.

My pleasure.
I had wondered at first if it was a photo of one of Bill's younger brothers, but seemingly not.
A bit strange though.

We've just watched this movie and rather enjoyed it. Bought from the USA, region coded, played on my SONY region free at purchase time DVD player.

If you're reading this, then you're already well into appreciating The Stones and will by definition reckon that it's too short by a factor of about 50. But they had to compromise to get it down to less than 100 minutes, and all in all I reckon they've done a good job.

My only niggle is that it annoys me in films like this when the music on the soundtrack does not match the timeline of the film - eg playing Satisfaction when covering the 1964 USA trip. Not right. Quite a few examples of that, and I'm actually rather surprised that Bill let that happen.

Thought of Foxy when Bill opened one of his storage drawers and showed a glimpse of a tiny fraction of his collection of badges!

Finally watched it a couple of weeks ago. Better than I expected and it does add some "depth" to the BW character. I suppose that stuff 'being pulled out of school by his dad to work in a betting house !) was already in "Stone Alone". A few things I didn't know, like when he broke one of his fingers and it had to be strapped and he kept on playing (89/90 tour ?). Another item of interest I forget now, maybe that he was a Ray Charles fan.

The question is though, what is going to happen to his massive collection of stuff he says he's been straightening out for years. Surely some plans have been made for that ?

Bill's motive for maintaining his Archives etc was so that he would have something to leave to his son, Stephen.
Of course he was unaware of how long his 'career' and/or fame would last.
Must be difficult to put a price on the material if ever the family thought of a sale. Cannot imagine it residing in a Museum like Dylan's Archives (University of Tulsa) or UK Author Alan Bennet's(Oxford Uni I think) but who knows?
The UK hasn't really anything equivalent to the US in regards to celebrating the history of Rock Music, which would be a possible resting place.
More likely it will remain a family heirloom!

The museum on "Video Rewind" would be nice!

I finally made it to see this movie.

Liked it.

I think it gives a more balanced account of the man then his books (which I did not like).

As noted by others above, surprised to see so many goofs, always thought that Bill was anal on the detail.

If I am not mistaken: no thanks to MT in the credits.

Noted the choice of words when referring to Brian Jones' dismissal "he got kicked out of the band" as opposed to "we kicked him out of the band"!

Mick seemed really bitchy about it when Bill left” it’s not that difficult to play bass in The Rolling Stones”
Yeah Mick- we can’t even tell he’s gone.those songs you played bass on Bigger Bang were great. I thought I was listening to Some Girls.
They were insane to “move on” from Bill, he would’ve worked on projects with them that would’ve been similar to video rewind.
When I saw that room with his archives my jaw dropped,it was like a Stones goldmine.
I don’t think they even had him work on that exhibition thing did they?
Every Fan should see this, it’s amazing.
