It is completely understandable and sensible for him to make the biography that he chooses; to edit his own footage and memories of his life, which does very much extend beyond the Stones, into a piece.
Thing is, no one really cares all that much about Bill Wyman, the Non Stone. he is who he is because of the Stones. So, as selfish as it sounds, I wish a hardcore Stonesfan could get in there, and roll up his sleeves, and show only footage of what the fans want to see.
Like with the "Exile" outtakes - we got close. Jagger said he consulted fans and their boots.

The trailer looks amazing. So it does look like it is all Stones. Very cool.

The movie poster claims he is a "former founding member". Strange wording. First of all, as far as I'm concerned he most certainly is NOT a founding member as he was added on..albeit very very early in the Stones story and of course he plays on their first single...but even if you argue he was a founding member, you remain a founding member and are not a former founding member. You can be a former band member, but you can't be a former founder.....either you are one or you aren't. Beyond that oddity, I'm interested to see the film.

I agree 100% Palace Revolution 2000, about getting a research minded fan into that archive to put together what would be a fantastic audio/video project of great importance. Watched it last night as a rental On Demand through Xfinity. Bill's story and perspective is certainly interesting, and for Stones fans there are some video tidbits that cause the viewer to beg for what is obviously much, much more. The sheer magnitude of Bill's archive is amazing. This film is certainly worth watching for any fan of Bill Wyman and the Rolling Stones.

Just watched some bits. Interesting and he has got an enormous archive. Hope he will open the vaults. Seems he filmed the stones quite a lot on tour.

An online Bill Wyman Archive would be nice.

Seems a shame to just leave nearly all of that stuff sitting unseen.

Does anyone know where this film can be seen in the UK?

Bill will die soon and most likely all that stuff in his archive will be sold off to settle his estate. If we are lucky he had every item photographed in fine detail and every piece of film transferred to a digital medium.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this film.
Nothing earthshattering in terms of content I guess, but a lot of the archive was great to see.
Its the first time ever live footage has been seen from the EXILE sessions in France, eventhough it was of the truck parked outside the villa, not the basement.
I also think the score was really nice, I did not miss more Stones tracks. And I was positively moved by the ending, the Ray Charles thing.
I hope the BluRay has a special on the archive though, more B-roll from that.

I don't know how to access these portals on my TV that I could watch it on. And I don't care to see it on my TV. Maybe I'll wait a bit and they'll offer it for sale commercially as a Blu Ray.

Unfortunately because of the political correctness issues it's unlikely to appear on the BBC as so many other good music docs do: if anyone knows where to find it please let us know.

I agree in principle, but I'd argue that it would benefit more from having professional archivists and researchers leading any such project - although of course it would be close to criminal to omit fans!

These would be people who know best how to (try to) prevent paper from decaying, film from fading, digital data from expiring etc etc.

As seen in the film, he's very good at organising it though.

9 years is pretty soon...but I hope Bill lives to be 100.

I watched it last night on Amazon Prime for $7.00: saved a trip to a theater.
It is great because it is told by Bill and I believe Bill is an reliable source.
I did not know he was so taken with Ray Charles's music, a liking he developed in the early 70's. He is very happy and very grateful and very proud of his time with the Rolling Stones."Fantastic" is the word that comes back often when talking about his experience in the band. Bill is great.

I was alive, I was seven and living on the Yorkshire coast!
The B'n'B next door did have the Roulettes, Adam Faith's backing band during his summer season in Bridlington in 1963.
All those empties!

This film opened here yesterday and I went to see it today at an early Saturday matinee. There were 40+ people there. I seem to be the only one wearing a Stones T-shirt. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, especially the footage showing the excitement of the early days. This really is a must-see movie for Stones fans.
