Does anybody have any pictures from the Tattoo You Tour show at MSG Nov 13, 1981?

It was my first Stones show...I didn't have a ticket...I paid my friends friends dad who was a security guard at MSG to walk me and my friend in. He charged us $125 a piece...which I paid the whole $250...Emptied my communion money against my Mom's will...Best Money I ever spent. Tickets were $14.50 at the time. Could you imagine? I paid 8.5 X face value times 2.
Could you imagine that in todays Stones prices and dollars?

Anyway...the kids Dad put me right at the left corner of the stage on the steps in the old Red section of the Garden (Ron Wood's Side and The Keyboard Players).

I was so close...and would love to catch a glipse of me in a picture.

Thanks.

my first show was the night before this one!

got lucky sending in postcards that said "Tattoo me" if I recall correctly.

My tix were about 30 bucks and my mother was shocked I'd be spending "so much" on a concert. Funny it was the least I'd spend on a ticket to see them over the next 35 years (rivaled only by the Beacon show which was either 25 or 50, I forget).

Screaming Jay Hawkins opened (a the tender age of 15, I wasn't too sure who he was, though) and at one point performed with a snake around his neck, the opening chords of Under My Thumb--which a NY Times reviewer had said at the time was an obscure song to open with, though I didn't think so because I only owned a few Stones albums at the time and the one most player was Hot Rocks--and Mick in the cherry picker.

HalfNanker,

I was 15 too! Crazy.

Yes...Screaming Jay Hawkins was bizarre...I didn't know
what to make of him.

I had heard that James Brown was lined up to open those
two shows at the Garden and either he and his band missed
the plane or he dropped out at the last minute...Screaming
Jay Hawkins happened to be in NYC and he was hired as a last
minute fill in.

any idea what Screamin Jay Hawkins set list was for those shows??
I wonder what songs we heard; I have no specific recollection.

No I don't...like I said...I was a bit taken back by Screaming Jay Hawkins.
I was 15 and never heard of him. I didn't know any of his songs.

Ah...One of the great regrets of my life....I did that whole mail in thing to score tickets for MSG in 1981. I succeeded and then got horribly ill with the flu the day off the show; gave my ticket to a friend. It didn't help that my friends who attended had to keep telling me what a great show I missed! At least I did get to see one stadium show on the tour.

"Gonna find my way to heaven ..."

How strange - 1981 was only 12 years from 1969 - the 81 msg photos look so different to 1969, it's like a lifetime of differnce. Whereas 12 years ago was 2005, and that seems relatively recent....

Great photos. But where's Bill? A big part of their sound in those days too.

I am getting close to finding a picture of myself in the crowd.

The 1981 - 1982 Wardrobe thread posted a picture of the exact angel I am looking for.

Please keep posting.

I need a picture taken from the right side of the stage...straight across
the front where I was seated on the steps of the bottom of the old Red Section
at MSG...on Ronnie Wood, Ian Stewart, and Ian McClagans side.

Thanks.

Awesome Exilestones!

That is definitely "When The Whip Comes Down" which was the 2nd song
and Keith and Mick still had their jackets on.

Thanks!
