Just pulled this up on shuffle and god its so funny. Not to make this a Rock And Roll Circus thread (even though I wouldn't mind as I adore that show) but I've always loved how funny this little bit is. Lennon was very good at this, as Jagger always has been as well. Probably my favorite line is Jagger's response to Mitch Mitchell: "really, experienced?" Just so perfect. Lennon's turn to camera and smile. Too bad these two didn't do more on camera stuff together and just another great example of Mick's excellent comedic chops.
And that incredible supergroup afterwards with Lennon, Clapton, Richards and Mitchell is to @#$%& die for. Love this show.
I remember reading a review of this exchange a few years ago...the writer said something to the effect that Lennon was too quick-witted for Jagger and made him look foolish. I've re-watched it since and don't get that feeling at all. Lennon's his sardonic self, but Mick gives as good as he gets.
