Interesting to see Paul Rodgers talking to Charlie. Was Free recording in Jamaica that year?

Wasn’t Bad Company trying to recruit Mick Taylor around this time?
I wish he would have taken that gig.

The song was a Chuck Berry type rock 'n' roll.

And what's wrong with " HOT STUFF"? Diana Ross called it a very good song.
Remember the disco at that time.

Star Star may be Chuck Berry type rock 'n' roll, but it has this Stones at their best stamp all over it. Incredible dynamics, listen to how the song develops from an almost tentative start to an almost maniac ending (for example, no bass guitar at the start - ok, they used this trick already on Honky Tonk Women, but this is so effective!) and compare this to a rather flat because "in your face" from start to finish Rough Justice.

I think Mick and Keith have a bit of love for GHS. Aside from the obvious success of Angie making every comp except SUCKING IN THE SEVENTIES (or any other GHS track), it's had pretty good representation on some hits comps.
MADE IN THE SHADE and REWIND (US) - ... Heartbreaker
TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE - ... Dancing With Mr D, Star Star
