But what the hell!!!
Our prog heroes are passing away quickly now.
And we have lost two great bassplayers lately - Chris Squire yesteryear, Wetton now.
RIP, John.

RIP, John.

And Greg Lake

Yes, of course. Greg was so multitalented and allround you sometimes forget that bass was his main instrument.

RIP John

Three bass players from King Crimson are now gone. Boz Burrell (also in Bad Co.), Greg Lake and now John Wetton..

Like the curse of the keyboard players in the Grateful Dead, we now have the Bass players from King Crimson!

Love and light to him, and thanks and praises.
I saw the King Crimson Lark's Tongues line-up twice. I love his voice.

So sad. Beautiful voice, great musician.

I'm not a huge fan of progressive rock (for me it sometimes gets too technical and loses the human touch), but I always loved John's work.

I know he's done much, much more, but I loved this performance and thought his vocal and the rest of the band found the sweet spot of great playing and great feeling on a simple song about a broken heart.

King Crimson, Roxy Music, Wishbone Ash, Asia, Uriah Heep, Brian Eno, U.K., he didn't just run in place.

I concede now that it just is a generational matter, and that these RIPs will be coming in too regularly.
John Wetton was interesting careerwise because he was half cool, and half Asia.

His playing in Crimson was particularly beastly. He and Bill Bruford worked particularly well together.

He was part of this. Enough said! thumbs up

And isn't this live recording from June 28th 1974 fantastic?

[youtu.be]

So far as I know only played once.

RIP

I enjoyed the Asia albums. Liked his voice as well as his bass playing.

Bummer.

Peace,
Mr DJA
