I listened to 'Laugh, I nearly Died' recently
(only 1 of the maybe 2 I own from this album, sorry)
for some reason
I can hear it when I looked here.
The 'you hurt my pride, you hurt my pride'
Similar sincere lament from Jagger?

Another great cover, on an album of great covers!

This one is basically the same as the Little Walter version, but with Mick's great vocals, of course! The riff is mesmerizing, very glad they covered this as I had never heard the original before!

Great song and I love Mick's voice........the great thing about Blue and Lonesome is that I never heard the originals...........

Scratch me previously, I can't tell the mood of this song
(I thought lament but, not like 'Laugh/ Died')
The song starts peppy, guitar and harp, but something doesn't
match/ the lyrics.
But it leaves me wondering- I don't believe the singer wants her back.
And what'd she say and hear? It's not desire that wants her back.
Favorite part is the long harmonic pull and hold at the end. Sweet.

Very nice cover, featuring another amazing performance from Jagger, both on vocals and harp. And the rest of the band sounds fantastic too. Love that sustained train-whistle harp at the end.
