What a package deal!
February 24 was video run-through for the televised show on February 26.

February 27 was the last show of the Japan leg. Literally, that was a kick ass show.

Ordered both from Amazon.co.jp and received them in the States two days later. NB: The Tokyo 2/24/90 DVD is region-restricted.

The extra Japan-only second DVD has about 20 minutes of footage of The Rolling Stones arriving at the airport (except Bill, if I remember correctly).

However, I think this edition has only the show on the 26th of February on 2CD's and 1 of the DVD's.

I hope this info helps.

I think I will be putting this up on eBay sooner or later as I also have the normal edition.

Blu-Ray versions of the From the Vault Extra release I had meant, and I guess maybe the one that has both shows on it, as I have the Tokyo vault release. I guess it doesn't make sense to re-order that in a different cover only. Is there one of the versions that has the 2/27 show too that some people were mentioning? I got lost following that in here....

Not true. See specifications of Ward Records release GQBS-90271-3 : DVD Tokyo Dome 24.2.1990 (=same as GQBS-90277) + DVD Tokyo Dome 26.2.1990 + bonus DVD (= same as GQBS-90063-4)

I don't see the well running dry. Maybe no imagination, or no faith in the fans. And that is frustrating. Because again and again it has been shown that it is the vintage, Golden Era stuff that is the real draw.
At this point in time it should be only critical reception that means anything anymore. Surely no one can be deluded to believe that the Stones are going to snag the young girls market with any release.
So, El Mocambo '77, US 72; my personal favorites Europe '70 or Sydney '73.They were on fire.

The DVD + 2CD version of this one....so is that only the 2/24 show, such that it is on both the DVD AND the CDs, much like the Vault Tokyo release is all 2/26? Or is this one DVD of 2/24 with the CDs from the 2/26 show?

Do all of the Ward/Japanese versions of the From The Vault series come in the hard plastic cases like the Marquee Club/Brussels Affair set, or was that something special to that packaging? Would have definitely have bought all of them from Japan if they were hard plastic. Not sure that the cardboard sleeves for the long haul...

I would not call Marquee/Brussels package as 'hard plastic'. They were packed in fat-boy double cases but the plastic is not hard at all. It is cheap chinese late days plastic. Not even close to those old good Japanese or Austrian CBS edition of Love You Live.

Thanks UrbanSteel! Good to know. And Ironbelly, maybe it isn't hard plastic like in the old days, but then the quality of everything these days is less than it was even 10 years ago. However, like I mentioned, compared to the paper cardboard editions of the other ones I have in my collection, I rather like having the plastic cases, as they will most likely last a lot longer than the cardboard. All I was asking was if the other releases were also in plastic cases in Japan, too, or if these cases were special to this edition.

The recent simple deluxes from WARD - Paris 95 and Totally Stripped were in thick DVD plastic boxes. I.e. the form factor was 'DVD case' (190mm*135mm*thickness), not 'CD jewel' (142mm*125mm*thickness). I think all other 2CD+DVD Japanese sets From Vaults series were packed like this. However, there was aditional paper box for those editions with extra T-shirt.

Surely, Superdeluxes with LPs were in thick outer cardboard boxes 12"x12".

Got it yesterday, picture quality not quite up wuth the 26th feb DVD but sound is great!

Same setlist but am glad to have it anyway; Keiths "soloing" almost ruins sone tracks. I know its been discussed here, his guitar hero phase - but by jeezus, what did he think playing some of those; the Sympathy solo is tuneless, directionless mess of amelodic string bending lol

Totally Stripped was released with vinyl through Ward. I have it. Large box with a book separate from the box. T-Shirt in the box.
