I would give it an 8 or so....in my view the clunker on the album really is Rain Fall Down. It does nothing for me....maybe that will change with more listens.

I didn't compare with '68-'72 material, but it's a 9/10 for the stones today.

At least 9/10. I'm not sure about "It Won't Take Long" yet. It has to grow on me.

Let's define the rating system first.

If we give Exile and Abbey Road and a few other complete masterpieces (I just had to through in that Beatle jab to irritate some people here) a 10...

and some works of near-perfection like SF , LIB and GTYYO a 9...and the newer stuff, which is good but not great (i'm talking about B2B and VL) a 7.5...

and the lesser efforts like SW and DW a 6.5...

then in my opinion ABB is a 8.5, which if you had told me the new album would be 6 months ago I would have been thrilled.

Let It Bleed would get a 9??? Now is Let It Bleed not perfect? Too short?

9/10 at first listen, 9-10 songs are excelent and the fillers are very good too. They did an incredible job this time.

I got the album from the shop today, and I've listen to it a bit more that my latest post on this thread. 9/10 so far! It's growing and getting better every minute!!!!

I think it's a lot better than Tattoo You. It's up there with B2B and Some Girls, although I don't know if it has the "single" power like Some Girls has. I think ABB is more like Exile in that it is a great collection of songs but none that are intensely attractive to radio like Miss You or Beast of Burden. But who cares about the radio anyways.
