To still love you baby, and take your mess
I ain't lyin', no use a jivin'
I'm just your fool

You must be tryin' to drive me crazy
Treat me the way you do
I ax you please have mercy baby
Let me be happy too

If you gonna leave me, for someone new
Gonna buy me a shotgun, shoot it at you
I ain't lyin', no use a jivin'
I'm just your fool

I'm just your fool, can't help myself
I love you baby, and no one else
I ain't crazy, you are my baby
I'm just your fool

Kind of reminds me of Hide Your Love a bit. Decent enough song but lacks the edge that they got on Commit A Crime or Little Rain.

I think Just Your Fool is very happy-sounding - sort of a «dance blues»-approach.

I can see why they picked it as the first single, although I would rather have seen Hoo Doo Blues, accompanied with a dark, controversial, raw video as the main track from BAL.

I like it, but it's not one of my favourites from the album.

A blues with a bridge
Happy-sounding is a good description

Funny how the fifth bar starts still on the first chord and changes to the fourth on the
second count (am I correct?).
Gives the song a pleasant unpredictability, other than your standard 12 bar blues.

Yeah, happy-sounding, indeed. A good way to start the album on good spirits.
And 2 minutes and 16 seconds! Good songs don't need any more than that.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Heyy! Why the thumbs-down?? Nothing wrong with happy-sounding!
People want to dance and get loose - that's what this music is for

The bridge meeting the verse is an interesting moment -
there's probably even a sophisticated musicology term for what happens there

A superb performance from everyone involved, but the song itself holds no interest for me.

Indeed, as there are too few bars, and Mick starts it early because of that, apparently.

As is the case after Mick's harp-solo in Blue And Lonesome smiling smiley

Love this song!!
Very fortunate to be on the rail at DT2 to enjoy it live!
Loved the interaction of the band on this one.. they really seemed to be really be enjoying presenting it live...
video: [youtu.be]

Of all the songs on the album, it is the one I find myself humming or singing throughout the day...

Lonestar,

Well-put!

It has become the first song of the day that I play and usually a
couple more times later.

It's great, and the one I most think they covered almost exactly... and yes, Mick sings it perfectly!

I think they were correct in making this the 1st song on the album. Just fun to listen too.

When I first heard the song, when Mick sings I Love You Baby at the beginning, it sounded identical to My Corrina when he sings I love to love you baby.

Cyndi Lauper did a version!

Not too shabby, but don't really like her vocals for this track...

Cyndi Lauper is great, so unique, so adorable, a true icon.
Her album "She´s So Unusual" is one of the absolute best in pop-music´s history.

The whole Blue & Lonesome is @#$%& great.
After all The Rolling Stones are a blues band who play rock'n'roll.
Mick Jagger's singing and harp playing is amazing.

10/10
