Mick and Keith could already be seen singing in the background of All You Need is Love, there's nothing new with the Rolling Stones recording with Beatles!

Perhaps the injury was not to one of the Stones, but to a sideman. Paul has no upcoming tour dates. Maybe they are even still trying to stick to the original itenerary. Fixed it, thanks Irix.

Perhaps the injury was not to one of the Stones, but to an essential sideman.

Sidemen are non-essential: they're replaceable, unfortunately.

Give them a gig on the crossroads festival if it still exists, and have some fun.

The TODAY SHOW here in America is even having a story about “Beatles and Rolling Stones” recording together. Previewed a few minutes ago at beginning of broadcast. Hasn’t aired yet.

The story has spread like wildfire.... a local radio station mentioned it last night, and now it's being published in NME, Guitar World, The Telegraph, Ultimate Classic Rock, the Daily Mail, etc., etc., etc.
Whether it actually happens remains to be seen, but now they almost seem obligated to do it. If it happens, surely it will be a monumental occasion in rock and roll history worthy of winning many accolades and awards.
On the other hand, if it doesn't happen many will feel like they've been deceived and/or shortchanged due to all of the press the story received, and the backlash might hurt sales (not to mention possible poor reviews).

Either way, a new album is long overdue!

18 years and counting.............

Meanwhile the story has made it even to the Viennese free subway paper (still in the Paul+Ringo version):

"the most anticipated collaboration in music history" this is really full-on dogsh*t. a real Brown Sugar controversy would be better publicity than what we are going to see

Oh no. But the good thing is, that this hype is gone very soon, like others before and in future.

Counting what? A dude that doesn't count BLUE&LONESOME, but is now salivating like a Pavlov dog about the idea of The Stones doing a Beatles cover? Or, bloody hell, even a George Harrison cover would do. And after bitching years about anything related to a new Stones album and of its prospects, he is now ready to give it a Grammy without hearing a sec of it...

Funny is that world of Beatles fans...

If the Stones are stupid enough to buy into that phony Paul McCartneys bullshit then they should hang it up already.
He’s a weirdo just like his fans, they insert themselves into every situation and then take credit for things that were already there.

If he actually played on a new Stones song and it became successful he’d take full credit “ oh the boys needed help, and then tell the story how he wrote their first single.AGAIN.

Such a passive aggressive jackass, he’s their friend one minute and the next he’s on Stern talking about how they were nothing campared to his little pop group.
Keep those two washed up bubble gum singers away from the rhythm section, if you think they’re better than those two cats who have the job now you’re probably suffering from some sort of mental disorder.

Yep Yep. A man who can by adding just one bass overdub can change the nature of a whole album. Suddenly a turd turns into masterpiece - a darkness into sunshine. Jesus did something similar (but, of course, we need to keep in mind Lennon's comparison between the two).

Indeed !

As for the Macca "buzz" I remember that at the of a Mick interview (for WS in 1993 I suppose) the journalist asked about BW's replacement and then went on to suggest names, he mentioned Macca and Mick said wrily "very funny"...

I liked the pic of Paul next to "Sex draught". Oh well. At least it is enough for him to do some backing vocals for the new Stones single.

"Jagger and Richards are the only surviving members of the original Rolling Stones; Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts have all passed on".

That is some weird unedited writing.......

Passive aggressive sums him up well. Never liked the guy and find him highly overrated.

I hope all these rumored collaborations won't take away from the tightness and cohesiveness of the new record.

I asked AI to write a song collaboration with The Rolling Stones and the Beatles:

Verse 1 (Mick Jagger):
I met a girl who came from Liverpool
She said she knew some boys who were pretty cool
We got together and started to jam
Before we knew it, we were in a band

Chorus (Paul McCartney):
We're the Beatles and the Stones
Playing rock and roll to the bone
Our music is a symphony
Of guitars, drums, and harmony

Verse 2 (Keith Richards):
I remember when we first met
The Beatles were just a local set
We played together, and we knew
That we could make some magic too

Chorus (John Lennon):
We're the Beatles and the Stones
Playing rock and roll to the bone
Our music is a symphony
Of guitars, drums, and harmony

Bridge (Mick Jagger):
We were born to play this sound
We'll never stop, we'll never slow down
Together we'll rock the world
With every note, every word

Chorus (Paul McCartney):
We're the Beatles and the Stones
Playing rock and roll to the bone
Our music is a symphony
Of guitars, drums, and harmony

Outro (Keith Richards):
So let's keep playing, day and night
Until the dawn brings the morning light
We'll keep rocking, forevermore
The Beatles and the Stones, forevermore.

Sounds pretty darn good
