Will the album have a title cut? It just might be called Ghost Town

Presuming Noise11 is referencing Ronnie's comments in The Sun, the number of songs was not mentioned.

Hmm... Ronnie confirmed that?! Where?

But if true, 17 is quite a bunch of songs.

Great news from noise11 that the 'group' includes Mick jagger and Keith Richards!

Seventeen songs is TOO MANY! You'd think they'd have learned that with Voodoo and A Bigger Bang. 4-5 of the seventeen won't be nearly as good and will drag down the whole effort.

I'd be happy with 10-12 (40-45 minutes), with an option for an expanded edition with more songs. Have a feeling they'll make it just long enough to make it a double album (50+ minutes). Easier to charge more for a double album.

I'm just expecting a decent single, a one time go through on the CD player, maybe a second go through for a couple songs, and then never listen to it again. Like every post-Wyman album.

Hoping for at least one or two more songs of the same quality as Ghost Town, and with any luck there will be one or two more that are even better than that.
Would love to be surprised to hear an album where a majority of the tunes are very good/great, but realistically there hasn't been a Stone album like that in over four decades .

The number of utterly negative miserable tossers on this board, honestly.
And I thought I'd come here for positive information.

Lol, I used to try and be upbeat/friendly, even did a ticket giveaway contest out of my own pocket during Zip Code which didn't go over well (try and give something away and people still complain you didn't do it to their liking) so I gave up.. But I stay cuz the band info on here is interesting, and there really are a couple folks on here I do enjoy smiling smiley

People can be critical without being miserable. Ones that only spew negative things are as ridiculous as those that always love everything. I'd like to think I'm somewhere in between, but who knows? I'm less negative than Keith, it seems, but to some, none of the Stones can do wrong and are immune from criticism, now that is ridiculous.

Remember they had seventeen years to write a new album. One decent tune per year could make a great album.
It's not gonna be a new Exile or a Beggar's banquet but hey, they are doing it.

I think the 17 song thing is conjecture. Wasn’t ABB 17 songs? Yea

I think the 17 song thing is conjecture.

Paul Cashmere of Noise11:

"Last week Ronnie Wood said the album would have 17 new Rolling Stones songs and confirmed that sessions with Charlie Watts were completed before Charlie passed away on 24 August 2021."

The only comments attributed to Ronnie Wood in the last week were published in The Sun:

Ronnie said in an exclusive chat: “We are recording the new album now and we are going to LA in a few weeks to carry it on and finish it off.

Charlie is on some of the tracks and drummer Steve Jordan.”

But shouldn't we first hear the album in order to say if there are too many songs or not...

I will lap up every single note, chord, riff and line of this new album. Beyond excited for it, it's been way too long. I LOVE latter-day Stones and consider albums like Babylon, Bang and Voodoo amongst their very best. If this is to be their final recorded output I expect it will be an album to treasure.

Disagree...that would take WAY too much time. I say shoot first, ask questions later.

So if article about 17 songs is correct so is the part about Ryan Tedder’s involvement. I think this is all speculation until we get an official notice. No doubt an album is coming. It could just be they have 17 tracks to choose from including B sides or whatever. Still hoping for 9 to 10 songs sequenced really good and if they have more put out another album in a year.
