why don't we just stop talking about a new album – maybe for one or two month?
As a boycott, that may signal to the boys that they should work faster?

"Hit the Wall" is the best Rolling Stones single since Start Me Up.
It has the classic Stones sound, with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards singing together and blending their voices just like in the 60's. The chorus, with Mick and Keith alternating on "Hit you!" and "Hit Me!", then joining on "Hit the Wall!", truly hits the spot.
The music is perfect. After the signature introductory riff, Keith and Ron Wood have their guitar weave working. Charlie Watts and Darryl Jones knock out a rhythm line that sounds like punches being thrown, with a crescendo that builds to a jackhammer knocking down a wall.
The song is a tremendous return to form -- a real gas. This should go to number 1 -- with a bullet.

For a band to release a new album in their 58th year another unbreakable Rolling Stones world record

They should just replace (to the body) by (to the wall) and rerelease One Hit (to the body)...who remembers that song apart from us poor suckers anyway ?
On a related note I remember an article in Rolling Stone in December of 1985 (I think) where they were all over the upcoming DW and said something like "the Stones haven't sounded so lethal since..."...talk about building up the hype ! So much so that when it came out the reviews were ecstatic ! Of course it's hard to be cool headed when a new Stones album drops...ABB being the latest example of course.

But first they have to get past Chuck Berry in their career as recording artists.
(CB: roughly 1955-2017)

Chuck Berry alone is as good as a band

Robert Plant:
I do know that bona-fide bands put out records and tend to feel disappointed. Because the whole window of exposure and opportunity has gone, no matter whether it’s Neil Young, Elton John or whoever it may be that people are ready to switch on to.
But who cares? If it’s @#$%& hip-hop or a cover of a Melanie song, it doesn’t matter. Just do what you do and feel it and mean it.
That last bit says it all. As in, you have to want to because you are an artist.
There's a little band from the UK that seems to have issue with that.

Received an email from Rollingstone.com regarding "last day of 25% sale", and it looks like we have a new candidate for the album cover.
Nice clean and rugged wall with a neon tongue superimposed...I like it!

So far you've voted for me to be Producer and now Art Director.
I now nominate myself for songwriter, guitar player, and maybe some percussion.
This album would have been finished years ago - I want your vote! lol
