Be fair, they were nearly done with BLUE AND LONESOME in December 2015. That counts for something.

At least they didn't name the unfinished album yet, otherwise this could turn into a sort of Rolling Stones Chinese Democracy..

Did Ronnie say they want to get the album out before the tour? Could that mean a spring or early summer release? I hope.

That was also the goal in 2017 and 2018.

Indeed it was. From the perspective of this serious fan, I'm concerned what exactly we'll be getting by the time this whole thing is over. The vibe I'm getting is that they are a loss on how to move forward. It sounds like every time they have gotten something recorded they've had to go out on the road thereby killing the creative momentum in the studio. One step forward, two steps back.

In recent years, I've observed the band getting along better than any time in recent memory. Let's hope they bring in those good vibes into the next studio session--whenever that may be.

Any confirmation that all members of The Rolling Stones are in London? I remember seeing rumours that they would be going back in the studio late November/December but no word on that so far. I hope they do, or at the very least, have their end of the year band summit and make touring plans for 2020. No word on the 2020 North America Tour in quite some time. I really hope it is still happening.

Only Jagger and Wood have been spotted, but that’s enough for some here to start jumping up and down. No sight of Richards and Watts.

I see no rejoicing. Cautious hints of near-optimism perhaps, but we've all been burned before and most are likely expecting to hear they're busy celebrating Christmas early and won't reconvene in the studio until sometime after the holidays.

For all we know they were already in the studio last month. If they were smart, they wouldn't say a word about it until the damn thing is finally finished. Otherwise we get statements like "it'll be out before the tour" or "hopefully by next Christmas." Rinse and repeat.

Still, every day is a day closer. Eventually, it will be true.

Mad? Nope. I personally don't care if the Stones ever release another album. They haven't put out a great studio album in almost 40 years and this one will most likely not be worth the wait, if and when it finally does come out.

That's why the vocals on TY took 6 weeks. Supposedly a 3 day job in Paris (according to Kimsey).
