In the US is out of the Billboard 200 for a while now (it spent 11 weeks in there peaking at #4) but is still charting on the Rock Album Sales chart, this week at #48. Total sales are 336,000 in the US, about 350,000 including streams points.
In the UK the album is #89 on Sales, but not on the main chart which includes streams. Total sales are 325,000.

Hot Rocks is such a classic compilation, it keeps selling year after year.
Someday RIAA will update the current 12x Platinum certification (from 2002) to a much bigger number, around 15 or 16x Platinum at least.

According to MediaTraffic Global Chart it have reached 1,874,000 by now, but, as Georgelicks stated, Mediatraffic's figures are 6 - 10% lower than the real numbers. So, yes, it must have reached 2,000,000 sales.

Hey Georgelicks, is it up to ABKCO to ask RIAA to recertify? Similar situation I believe to Van Halen, where Van Halen 1 and 1984 are both Diamond at 10 million sold in the US but they've been at that mark for a long time now. Does Warner Bros have to ask RIAA?

Yes, ABKCO should ask for a recertification, but it looks as both ABKCO and Universal are not interested, their last album certification in the U.S was Gold for GRRR in December 2012.
