What will happen with the US sales if they did a few Live TV appearances...I guess 10 again......by the way did they did any promoting besides the internet and a few videos.........

Actually the album is selling good if we see the promotion after the first week, there's no new video, no interviews, no TV activity, not a single bit of promo anywere.

It looks as the Stones/Universal are both very pleased with the sales so far, 1.6 million copies after 7 weeks, with 2 months of live activity on Europe in June/July, B&L should be close or over 2.2/2.3 million by then, that's very good by today's standards, so there's no need for additional promo.

B&L is selling just like GRRR did 4 years ago, that album did move about 200-250k copies during the 2013 tour (May/July) and 1.8 million copies during the first 4-5 months.
B&L is doing the same and it will end up selling 2.2/2.3 million by mid year.

My father did not buy a cd for years but this one my mother had to buy him as christmas gift.

And at my office a few people did buy it. Some because their friends told them. Also my "coiffeur" does have the album. Switzerland is also a Stonesland maybe not like Argentina but ....

The commercial success of B&L is already amazing. And it will become even huger, if the album will move to the level of 2 million, as Georgelicks predicts. And, please, don't judge the current sales by the measures of ABB era... Just look at Media Traffic's statistics. How many albums have sold over 2 million copies during 2016? Only five. And the last album of year's top 40 only sold 663,000 units. During 2006 there were 27 albums selling over 2 m and the #40 was corresponding to 1,488,000...

Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Croatia: all rather impressive runs, one way or the other (& for what it's worth).

USA: very disappointing, isn't it?

I think it's fair to say that with this album, the Stones WON'T be 're-introducing the blues' to the North-American audience like they did in the sixties. smoking smiley

Okay these are chart numbers only, correct? But how many pieces were sold in the US compared to other countries? I'm sure it's been mentioned in this thread but I'm not looking.....haha. The Stones need to re-introduce Stones type music back to the masses, that's what we want!!

"B and L" has sold close to 300,000 copies in the US so far. It isn't a bad number nowadays IMO. Chart numbers in the US, nowadays, is a different issue: Many local artists, basicallly Hip Hop and country acts, are "monster sellers" there, even acts that seem to be uknown in the rest of the planet. Just look at Billboard 200. Very few the non - American and non - Canadian acts on it...

Anyway, "B and L" has spent 7 weeks in a row on Top Ten of the Global Chart. Excellent performance.

It will never happen until the band is gone, US masses are very far from rock music, rock is #4 among US best selling music genre, so no even a Start Me Up could reach a wide audience there.

Well that sucks.......sad smiley But how is the vault series received? Probably less than 50,000 I would imagine.

Now that you mention, I subscribe to the Grateful Dead's Dave's Picks series which has 4 show releases per year. They produce 16,000 hard copies and that is the limit. (They do a nice job with their selections BTW)

9th week at #14 in the UK selling 4,800 units, it has sold 301,800 copies so far and it was certified PLATINUM by BPI.

The album is #7 on sales only but with streams included is down to #14.

An interesting bit from Music Week: "Streaming accounted for 661,859 sales – a record 40.98% of the total. Sales of paid-for albums are down 2.19% week-on-week at 953,284 and are down 26.32% below same week 2016 sales of 1,293,994."

Album sales slowly dying off, while streaming is now over 40% of the total and peaking each week.
In less than 2 years streaming will be at 60-70% of the market share with album sales for die hards and aging fans only.

There's no official chart in Chile, the market is so small (about 90% is streaming and ilegal sales) that even GOLD albums (5,000 copies sold) are so rare nowadays, only 2 albums in 2016.
