In 1964 a blues single was number one; in 2016, a blues album is number one. What a genre the blues is !

Awesome.
Maybe some of this retro-nostalgic blues/rock will rub off on some of the young whippersnappers that usually top the charts these days - whoever they may be.
Just like the Stones were originally inspired by the real bluesmen, maybe they will now inspire a new generation of musicians.
Passing the torch, spreading the word, trickling down through the ages...the Stones are helping the cause.

All the charts with B&L on it will be out in a week:
UK (Dec. 9)
Rest of Europe/Japan/Australia (Dec. 10-11)
USA (late Sunday Dec. 11 or Monday Dec. 12)

It won't be #1 in the US for sure, it has a chance in the UK but the competition is too strong on December, at least it will sell a lot more than a release on July or October.

I am playing this right now and think it's awesome! Mick's voice is perfect for this project and his harp playing is sublime. I say stick with the blues from here on out boys (some originals would have been nice too though).

I got mine at Barnes & Noble, had to ask for it, they had it behind the counter. There is a $50 deluxe edition too. Also got the new Clapton Live in San Diego cd.

Not surprised as several record stores here were already sold out of it by the time I got to them today.

My prediction: Rolling Stones will win a Grammy for best Blues album for Blue And Lonesome.

My waiter tonight said he's alive b/c of the Stones, His parents met in the Rolling Stones bar in Japan.

He looked 1/2 Japanese so I tended to believe him.

I bought the CD at my local record shop and the guy behind the counter said that it was selling really well. I also visited my local Tesco and there was only one CD left on the shelf! Bloody hell!

The album is selling a lot better than expected, close to 100k is expected on the States alone during the first week.
