Best Song on CD?

I have to listen more

But I think laugh I nearly Died will have the longest lasting effect.

It is almost like a goodbye anthem.

The rest great but similiar to past material but the best in a while

What do you think?

Right now, my favorite is Laugh, I Nearly Died. I keep wanting to hear it over and over. I agree with others that have said it would have fit very nicely on Side Two of Tattoo You. This song is 10/10, A+ for me.

My least favorite so far is Rain Fall Down.

I like Rain fall down like a good Black and Bue cut what should have been SOL my least favorite

LIND is a beautiful song... but I'd have to say It Won't Take Long rocks like I haven't heard anyone rock in a long time! This song should have been the single, inspiring other 'bands' to get their act together. This is the Stones at the peak of their powers. Just listen to Charlie hitting the drums for christ sake!

Laugh is my favourite. That could change when I finally can play my copy all day, but the song is brilliant. 10/10 for sure.

Have heard 1/2 of them but for me its Let Me Down Slow because of the killer
outro guitar solo but more important jagger taking a chance with his vocals and
it nailed the different vocal style. At least jagger is taking chances.

What impresses me so far is how strong jaggers vocals come through on the songs
i have heard. lyrically some songs are not strong but you can,t always get what
you want.

as noted on the other 3,475 threads here - SSMC is the one standout track on the album, IMO. I didn't think the Stones had it in them to come up with a song as good as this at this late stage, frankly.

For the moment, and it's "Oh no not you again". It's a strong rock. And there is certainely a reason why they played it at the press conference.
"Laugh I nearly died" is interresting, there is some flash back of "Heaven".
"Infamy" has no soul for me, it sounds like an bad outtake from "Main offender". I love "Main offender" really big groove.
I know that an album needs several and several listening but I have no a good hope for this one.
Keith plays the solo on "dangerous beauty" but like usually now, he is not inspired about it.
For me the good surprise is on stage. I've seen some extracts of "shattered" from the first show in Boston, from pro-shot and keith played very well and strongly and loud. It was good.

Streets of Love and Rough Justice are the 2 songs I like the less on the album.

Highlights :

let me down slow
rain fall down
biggest mistake
this place is empty
laugh, i nearly died
sweet neo con

LIND and SNC are my favorite with keith tunes but others are excellent too.

As far as the studio versions go:

1. Back Of My Hand
2. Rough Justice
3. Infamy

But I think Infamy is a much stronger song than the others when played live.

think about it when was the last time this many songs were liked on a Stones Recorded and could be debated as best?

Damn, I can't pick one!

Rough Justice just rocks, She saw me coming is a total party song, love the guitar intro to it.

Dangerous Beauty...man I can't decide...wait what about Let me down real slow.

It's a strong album, not to crazy abot sweet neo con and Streets though.

Bottom line- Im fluctuating. I really think there is loads of great material on this new album( and I listened to it the first 2 times being very cynical)

So this is the Stones in 2005. I guess if you dont like it, its time to give up on them completely.
